PRE EVENT

THE START

Arriving for the RaceWhen arriving to attend the race or spectate, it is best to arrive early. Road closures are in place from 8.30am so plan this into your travel time. If you plan on using any of our 3 official race car parks (pages 6/7) then you must arrive before the road closures come into effect.

Race Warm UpThere will be official mass warm ups before both events. These will take place in the line-up 10 minutes prior to your race starting. An Everyone Active Fitness Instructor will deliver a fun warm up and get you ready and raring to go. Please check the timetable on page 12. The warm ups are great fun and really add to the atmosphere so make sure you line up early and you won’t miss out!

3k Fun Run Route and Line UpPlease be aware that there may be a change to the 3k Fun Run route, discussions are taking place and a decision will be made soon. Announcements will be made both prior and on the day.

The warm up will also be close to the 10k start line.

For safety reasons, it is important you line up in the most appropriate place. If you are a strong, quick runner then line up near the front.

If you intend to run all the way at a steady pace then line up in the middle and if you are a slow runner/jogger/walker please line up towards the rear.

10k Line UpThere will be 5 line up grids. The elite runners will line up at the front. Thereafter, the assembly area will be split into another 4 groups, Sub 40, Sub 50, Sub 1 hour and Happy to Finish. These will be designated by tear drop flags. If you wish to run with a friend or relative who is slower than you, then it is important you line up in the slower grid.

On RoutePlease be aware that runners are expected to run/walk at a minimum of 15 minute mile pace which would get you round in 1hour 33 minutes. Those that are travelling slower than this pace will be expected to complete the route on the pavement. This allows the organisers to have the roads re-opened within reasonable timescale for the general public.

CHARITIES

CHARITIES NEED YOU!

Would you like to make a difference to somebody’s life?

Would you like to feel you have physically achieved something?

Would you like to feel a sense of pride whilst being cheered on by thousands of people?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to one or more of the above, then the Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10k or the Cleveland Centre 3k Fun Run is for you...

Signing up to one of the Event’s nominated charities enables you to make a difference to people’s lives. There’s no better feeling than crossing over the line at the Taylor Wimpey Tees Pride 10k irrespective of how fit (or unfit) you are - and it makes it that bit more special knowing you have done it for a worthy cause.

The Sports Event Charity Team (SECT) work in partnership with Everyone Active to promote the Middlesbrough 10k, 5k, 3k and 2k events. Each member of SECT represents a different local charity, and by working together we strive to ensure that all the events are a success for Middlesbrough, and that all local good causes are well supported.

On Sunday 2nd September, most of the associated charities will have a stand within our Athletes’ Village (see page 8), giving you the opportunity to talk to staff/volunteers and learn more about your chosen charity.
