Once upon a time in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the Prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind. But then, one night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the Prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. Monsieur D’ Arque: (will also read General Audition Lines) (creepy tone)“I don’t usually, leave the asylum in the middle of the night. But this fellow said you’d make it worth my while.” (knocking on the door) “I’ve come to collect your father. Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of him.” Babette: (will also read General Audition Lines) (flirty) “Oooh lala... what do we have here? Do my eyes deceive me or is dis a man? it's been so long since I've seen a real man.” (aside) No offense, Lumiere. Bonjour Monsieur (she plops next to MAURICE) Mind if I sit here?” Silly Girl: (will also read General Audition Lines) Silly Girl: (hysterically sobbing). “It can’t be true, I don’t believe it. Why would you go and do a thing like that!? I can’t bear it, I simply can’t bear it! Oh Gaston, say it isn’t so!” Gaston: It’s so Silly Girl: WHAAAAAAAAA (sobbing some more)
