Violence

• It is a form of force which makes one person weak and the other powerful and in such condition one can make the weak person do as their will. Force can be seen as psychological, societal and Physical. It can be seen in the forms of economic, intimidation, threats, persecution sand all forms.

• People commit violent crimes against women, these acts of violence and abuse have deep effects on women.

• A victim only comes out with her problem when she can no longer take the violence.

• The violence’s are not taken seriously in our society, thus no action is taken against it.

Types of Violence

• There are three broad categories

1. Physical

2. Psychological

3. Sexual

1. Physical:Hitting someone, leaving an impression or ark of the violence, Domestic violence.

2. Psychological: The depression, emotional damage, Anger, Fear, Confusion or self hatred caused by trauma, or pressure of someone.

3. Sexual: Forcefully engaging in a sexual act, (coitus). Mostly the victimized by the males of the family (Incest).

Gender Based Violence

• It is a social phenomenon, the men are usually in more powerful positions as compared to women, men use the power to get what they want, in terms of Pakistan it is mostly known as Violence Against Women.

Stopping Violence

• Women need to be treated as human-beings, they are not to be targeted for the purpose of releasing tension .

• Elimination of derogative/bad words for women.

• Raising awareness among men and women and the laws that apply to the violence's and awareing about the punishments.

Action to take against Violence

• Reporting crime of violence

• Providing protection.

• Proper guidance for victims

• Privacy and confidentiality

Legal Aid

• Offences against such violence’s have non bailable sentences and punishments.
