Bump Oven Shelves
The shelves are designed with stop-locksso when placed correctly on the shelf
supports, they will stop beflwe confingconq)lemly Otlt of the oven and will not
tilt when p)tl are removing fi)od ti'omthem or placing fi)od on them.
When plating cookware on a shelf, pullthe shelf out to the bunq) on the shelf
suI)port. Place the cookware on theshelf, then slide the shelf back into the
()veil. This will eliminate reaching intothe hot ()veil.
To remove the shelves from the oven, pull
tl_em toward you, tilt fl'ont end upwardand pull them ()tit.

• Follow a tested recipe and measure the
ingredients careflflly: If you are using apackage mix, follow label directions.
• Do not open the oven door (hwinga baking operation--heat will be lost
and the baking time might need tobe extended. This could cause poor

4 inches--and ('lose it as quicklyas possible.

Adjust the oven thermostat--Easy to do yourself!
Youmay find that your new oven cooks differently than the one it replaced. Use your new oven for a few weeks tobecome more familiar with it. If you still think your new oven is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the thermostatyourself.
Do not use thermometers, such as those found in grocery stores, to check the temperature setting of your oven.These thermometers may vary 20_40°F.
NOTE: This adjustment will not affect the broiling temperatures. The adjustment will be retained after a power failure.

Most recipes for baking have beendeveloped using high-fat products suchas butter or margarine (80% fat). If youdecrease the fat, the recipe may notgive the same results as with a higherfat product.
Recipefailurecanresultif cakes,pies,pastries,cookiesorcandiesaremadewith low-fatspreads.Thelowerthefatcontentofa spreadproduct,themorenoticeablethesedifferencesbecome.
Federal standards require products
labeled "margarine" to contain at least
80% tilt by weight. Ixmqht spreads, on the
other hand, contain less fat and more
water: Tile high moisture content ot these
spreads affects tile texture and flavor of
baked goods. For best results with w_m" old
fhvoiJte recipes, use inargaiJne, butter or
stick spreads containing at least 70%
vegetable oil.

How to Set Your Oven for Broiling

To clean the surli_ce units, mrn the
control to the highest setting fin" aminute. The coils will burn off any soil.

the pan lines up with the receptacle.
Insert the temfinals of the surti_ce unit
through the opening in the dil I) pan andinto the receptacle.
Guide the surti_ce unit into place so itrests evenly.
To clean the drip pans:
Dil I) pans can be cleaned in thedishwasher or bv hand. If w)u use a
scouting pad, rub lightly to I)reventscratching.

Flooring under the range
Your range, like many other household items,is heaw and can settle into soft floor coveringssuch as cushioned vinyl or carpeting.
When moving the range on this type offlooring, it should be installed on a 1/4"thick sheet of plywood (or similar material)as follows:
When the floor covering ends at the frontof the range, the area that the range willrest on should be built up with plywoodto the same level or higher than the floorcovering. This will allow the range to bemoved for cleaning or servicing.

A CAUTION: For personal safety,do not use an extension cord with this
appliance. Remove house fuse or open circuitbreaker before beginning installation.
This appliance must be supplied with theproper voltage and frequency, and connectedto an individual properly grounded branchcircuit, protected by a circuit breaker or fusehaving amperage as specified on the ratingplate. The rating plate is located under thecooktop. See the Lift-Up Cooktop sectionin this manual for instructions on how tolift the cooktop.
Rating Plate
We recommend you have the electrical wiringand hookup of your range connected by aqualified electrician. After installation, havethe electrician show you where your mainrange disconnect is located.
Check with your local utilities for electricalcodes which apply in your area. Failure towire your oven according to governing codescould result in a hazardous condition. If thereare no local codes, your range must be wiredand fused to meet the requirements of theNational Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 70-Latest Edition. You can get a copy by writing:

Care shouldbe taken to center the cable and strain reliefwithin the knockout hole to keep the edgefrom damaging the cable.
• Because range terminals are not accessibleafter range is in position, flexible serviceconduit or cord must be used.

• On some models, a filter capacitor may beconnected between the black and white

LEVEL THE RANGE
For proper cooking and baking, the rangemust be leveled. Leveling legs are locatedon each corner at the base of the range.
Install the oven shelves
(see Using the ovensection for instructions).Put a spirit level or a glassmeasuring cup partiallyfilled with water on oneof the oven shelves.
Turn the legs clockwiseto raise the range andcounterclockwise tolower the range. Adjustthe leveling legs untilthe range is level.

Be sure power is in service to the building.
