What is the uVenture Challenge? A competition for student teams to commercialize a real product/technology that a sponsoring company (200 August Street) intends to bring to market. This challenge will be to find the best business model and market strategy to create customer demand and market viability. Why Participate?

• Win cash (first place team prize $1,500, second place team prize $500) • Gain valuable real world experience • Work with successful entrepreneurs and private sectors leaders (your advisors and mentors) • Test your skills and develop new entrepreneurial capabilities • Create a project you can add to your professional portfolio • Expand your professional network • Food and beverages provided on site

Who is Qualified To Participate? All currently enrolled GSU undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in entrepreneurship and business problem solving. It is preferred that participating students are familiar with one or more of the following — business model design, design thinking, innovation techniques, marketing/branding, and general problem solving. Three “flash” workshops will be conducted to develop additional business capabilities. There is no cost to students to participate in this event. Place 55 Park Place, Atlanta 30303 (across from the Woodruff Park Fountains), Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENI) Schedule

Friday Feb 12th (Kick Off) 4pm – 10pm

• Introduction, product/technology overview, event scope and rules of engagement • Team selection and fun team exercise • Three “flash” workshops – 1) business model thinking, 2) demand creation, and 3) branding

Saturday Feb 13th (Team Work Day) 8am – 8pm

• Teams work face-to-face at their own pace to develop a viable approach for commercializing the product/technology. Meeting rooms, internet connectivity and other resources provided

• Teams access a pool of advisors (GSU faculty) and mentors (business professionals) to help them develop a viable commercialization approach

• Teams have nearly a week to further collaborate before making their final presentations Friday Feb 19th (Team Presentations & Awards)

4pm – 10pm

• Teams present their commercialization approaches (30 minute presentation with 30 minutes of open discussion) • Judges evaluate the merits of the commercialization approaches • Awards for best approaches
