Working principleThe GEA MaxiGrind is a single worm grinder with a patented twostep design incorporating a large breaker section with sharp, cuppedworm flights that first break the frozen blocks into smaller pieces. These pieces are then conveyed to the smaller diametercompression and grinding section containing the 400 mm cutting set. Fresh, frozen and mixtures of fresh and frozen meats are easilypre-ground before going on to further processing such as mixing, fine grinding or emulsifying for use in burgers, patties, formed andcoated products, and sausages

PerformanceThe standard GEA MaxiGrind 400 grinds common sizes of meat blocks (such as 600 x 400 x 200 mm) as well as odd sizes from sacks ortrays. The GEA MaxiGrind 400HD also handles double plate freezer blocks up to 1200 mm long.

• Short worm version (S) for pre-grinding at temperaturesdown to -15°C
• Throttled worm version (ST) for grinding down to –20°C
• Very high performance frozen meat grinding
ReliabilityThe extremely long-lasting 400 mm cutting sets are manufactured from high-grade hardened tool steel for maximum wear resistance.The pre-cutter plate is fixed between the knife housing and the lining, which prevents the product flow pressure affecting the knifetensioning, thus reducing wear. In addition, the knife inserts have double-sided cutting edges suitable for even the toughest products,and are designed to be fitted into the insert holders without special tools.

HygieneAll parts that come into contact with the product – such as knife housing, lining and worm – can be completely taken apart for easycleaning. Clamp-mounted rather than bolted cutting sets simplify cleaning and product changeover. The crane, safety guard, safetystep and tool trolley enhance safely for the operator. No hidden surfaces or corners ensure a high standard of hygiene.
