What we will do in ViBRANT

Refine and extend the current GBIF platform for:

Discovery and access to controlled vocabularies supported within the GBIF & ViBRANT (and other) networks

Drafting and publishing new controlled vocabularies

Drafting and publishing extensions to the DarwinCore for two core biodiversity data classes (taxon occurrence and taxon)

Supporting communal internationalisation of supported vocabularies.

Who are our users & how will they engage?

Users of GBIF data publishing tools, portal or data standards- i4Life- Encyclopedia of Life- Some TDWG vocabularies

Scratchpad users where controlled vocabularies are part of data entry, search forms, and other user interfaces.

Provide a platform for internationalisation of key vocabularies to support uptake of infrastructure in other countries and regions.
