Debra eckerling’s 5 social media tips
Find your audience: Yes I do think that Gavin knows who his audience; since his music is
alternative, it is a genre of music that basically anyone can listen to.
Post Meaningful/ Sharable content: Gavin usually posts about his touring life or about making
music, so yes that is meaningful to him so it should be meaningful to his audience
Engage Fans: As I’ve mentioned, Gavin is really interactive with his fans with twitter, instagram,
and Facebook. He loves posting and updating his fans about his musical life. Gavin keeps his
personal life to himself and doesn’t really post about it; some fans would like to know about his
personal life so that might disengage some fans from his social media sites.
Hand Out Swag/ Put up flyers: I do not live in New York City where Gavin lives, so I have never
seen any flyers. I do see promotions for when he comes to Toronto, or Buffalo as those are the
venue areas I have seen Gavin in concert. I do think that this is effective because I always want to
go back to see him as he is a very entertaining artist!
Post Constantly: Gavin tweets many times a day! I always see him on my timeline either tweeting
about life, or tweeting about his current Make A Move Tour!
Hope you enjoyed my Gavin DeGraw slideshow! If you ever
want to check out his work go to his youtube page, Facebook
page, or google him; a lot of information and videos come up
:)
