Key activities of UNCTAD

UNCTAD statistics’ portfolio/mandate
UNCTAD statistics portfolio/mandate consists in maintaining a set of economic time series mainly designed for the research work of the economists of the secretariat.

Time series tailored to the needs of economists
• Long : 40 years preferably, at least 30 years
• Regularly updated and recent data
• Continued series
• All countries of the world including least developed countries
• Harmonized to allow the combination of series and the calculation of derived indicators

o Enhance visibility, credibility and impact of UNCTAD’s work, through a sensible mix of traditional and innovative methods of engagement and dissemination
o Ensure effective dissemination to and feedback from main target groups
