Real Life Stories .. we believe the gospel of life begins with the message of eternal life and
continues with growth in holiness.
► Janeen , 25 years old is currently living in a shelter in Elizabeth. She is in the process of getting assistance from welfare for an apartment. She is no longer with boyfriend, who was a drug addict. As a child Janeen had beensexually abused by her aunt’s boyfriend. She has made many wrong choices. She has been a backsliddenChristian for over 2 years. Jackie had a long talk with her regarding God’s word and His will for her life. Theytalked about the struggles of life and the consequences of straying from the Lord. Jackie reminded her of God’slove and his great purpose and plan for her life.
During the conversation Janeen broke down in tears and agreed that truly without Christ there is no hope in this world and that He alone can fill the void in her heart. She prayed to reconcile herself to the Lord andrecommitted her life anew to Him. We gave her a list of churches that we recommend and encouraged her tofind a local home church. She was so very happy to have come to Gateway!
Acts 26: 18: ‘ .to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that theymay receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.'
‘And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestlyto the Lord of the harvest to send out laborersinto his harvest.’ Luke 10:2 ESV

Recent visits to Gateway – Elizabeth
Julia, age 27 was referred to us by a co-worker. She
is currently living alone. Previously, she was living
with 43 year old boyfriend, but he left her as soon as
he found out she was pregnant. Julia and her boyfriend
had been dating and living together for 6 ½ years. We
found out that she had never been to church (not even
once) in her life. She is from Cuba and only speaks
Spanish. We had a very long conversation about life
decisions, consequences and outcomes. The gospel
was shared and Julia trusted Christ. She left our office
as a new and transformed women, full of joy,
expectations and hope for the future!
Gail is 19 years old. She was referred to us by the
Women’s Health Center, located two floors below our
Elizabeth office. She is from Ecuador and Columbia.
Her family are Mormons. She is currently living with
her mother. She has been dating her boyfriend for a
year and a half. She believes everything to be going
well.
We had a long talk and for the first time she heard the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pointed out that there is
no other way to enter Heaven but by Him. We shared
His great love for children. We told her that He knows
each and every one of us by name and that He has a
very special plan for each and every one of us. She
very gladly wanted to receive Christ as her Savior and
Lord. After Gail prayed to receive Christ as Lord and
Savior, she was given a Bible, racks, literature, a
referral and a church list.
“She had never b een to church (not even
once) in her life.”
