Recent visits to Gateway –  Elizabeth

Julia, age 27 was referred to us by a co-worker. She

is currently living alone. Previously, she was living

with 43 year old boyfriend, but he left her as soon as

he found out she was pregnant. Julia and her boyfriend

had been dating and living together for 6 ½ years. We

found out that she had never been to church (not even

once) in her life. She is from Cuba and only speaks

Spanish. We had a very long conversation about life

decisions, consequences and outcomes. The gospel

was shared and Julia trusted Christ. She left our office

as a new and transformed women, full of joy,

expectations and hope for the future!

Gail is 19 years old. She was referred to us by the

Women’s Health Center, located two floors below our

Elizabeth office. She is from Ecuador and Columbia.

Her family are Mormons. She is currently living with

her mother. She has been dating her boyfriend for a

year and a half. She believes everything to be going

well.

We had a long talk and for the first time she heard the

Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pointed out that there is

no other way to enter Heaven but by Him. We shared

His great love for children. We told her that He knows

each and every one of us by name and that He has a

very special plan for each and every one of us. She

very gladly wanted to receive Christ as her Savior and

Lord. After Gail prayed to receive Christ as Lord and

Savior, she was given a Bible, racks, literature, a

referral and a church list.

“She had never b een to church (not even

once) in her life.”
