TIME TO SHINE

Whether you car is brand new or 50 years old, chances are the paint is scratched, swirled, dull, or faded. Between washing our cars improperly, leaving them in the sun for extended periods of t ime, covering them up without washing, and just driving all contribute to wear and tear on the paint. There are tricks you can use when washing to lessen the appearance of swirl marks, or "spider webs", however they are fairly inevitable and can be tricky to remove.

Enter our Paint Restorat ion service! Our paint restorat ion is a chemical-free mult i-step buffing system that can do wonders on most* exist ing paint flaws. The process typically takes between 8-10 hours and produces an end result much nicer than any at-home buffing system could ever produce, and in some cases prevents a re-spray of the car.

An in-shop evaluat ion of the paint on your car is needed in order to confirm that our restorat ion system will work for your paint. Call 540-949-8764 to schedule your evaluat ion appointment today. *Scratches and chips that are through the clear coat will not be fixed with our paint restorat ion.

FEATURED CAR FOR SALE: 1974 MGB

This beautiful MGB has just been acquired from the previous long-term

owner & restorer of the car, who has unfortunately passed away. We

purchased all 4 of his British sports car that he has restored & tenderly

loved. He bought it from his good friend in SC who was the original owner. It

is absolutely over the top fantastic. As nice as the top of the car looks, what

really impressed me were the underside, engine bay, & the attention to

details. It is wearing its original sheet metal with no evidence of any accident

damage or rust- EVER! This garage kept car was the perfect candidate for a

light restoration, but because the restorer enjoyed making everything new,

he has done a complete restoration with all new suspension, brakes,

chrome, rubber, interior, top, bare metal re-spray, rebuilt engine,

transmission, rear end, new tires, new chrome wire wheels, etc. This car still

has the original windshield washer plastic bag, which is almost unheard of &

it is still supple & holding fluid. During the restoration, the 1974 bumpers,

which had a 3×5 rubber bumperette, were replaced with 1973 bumpers. This

was not what people call a ?rubber bumper? car, rather it was the last year of

the chrome bumper B?s. It has been stated that less than 10% of the 1974

MGBs were sold with factory overdrive, and I would say that a very, very low

portion of those were fitted with chrome wire wheels. This car was both. The

interior is not only beautiful, but was properly redone with factory seat

covers and new foams, a beautiful original top, and a stunning dash of which

all gauges and switches work as new. These cars are on the upswing in value,

and even though many of them were made, very few survived and ever less

of those are rust free, accident-free, one owners with factory overdrive such

as this. This car is absolutely stunning from engine bay to trunk, from top of

bonnet to bottom of the floors. This is THE car you have been looking for.

Please call us to discuss further, and to find out how reasonable our price is.

Don?t miss this opportunity!  540-949-8764, M-Th 7:30am-6:00pm EST.

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Hard to believe we are already a month into the new year, and almost to a Brit ish car owner's favorite season: SPRING! Although with the weather we have been having for the past few weeks. you might think that spring has already made an appearance. On that note, if you have taken advantage of this mild weather recent ly and had your LBC on the road, just remember there is always a chance that real winter weather could show its ugly head again in the coming months. Take the t ime today to make sure that you have properly re-winterized your car: make sure your fuel is as empty as possible (don't want ethanol separat ing into water and creat ing rust in your fuel system) or a fuel stabilizer has been added, the car has been washed and covered to prevent scratches and dings, your ant ifreeze is rated for freezing temps according to your climate, and the t ires have good air pressure. With that being said, if you plan to bring your car in for spring service, I suggest making an appointment soon as slots are filling up quickly as we approach our busiest season of the year!

THE BURKS

SHENANDOAH VALLEY BRITISH CAR CLUB

If this story doesn't melt your heart , then I don't know what will! -- Mike received

an email from a couple in California who were searching for a red 1959 TR3 and

had stumbled across ours when searching the internet. Bob and Jo Burk started

dat ing in 1959, and Bob drove a red '59 TR3 -just like the car they were looking for.

When asked why they wanted to find the same car, Jo replied, "That was the car

we had unt il our son was born in 1968. That car was very special to both of us and

we are incredibly excited to have another one just like it to bring back great

memories. We ALWAYS celebrate the anniversary of our first date, and [this] week

wie will have been 'going together' for 58 awesome years. We decided that the

most romantic gift to buy each other would be a 1959 TR3." Mike was happy to

oblige to their request, although it has one small twist . The couple did not want the

car to be able to take drives in, rather to have and to enjoy in their backyard where

they could go and sit inside and indulge in a bott le of wine together. This touched

all of our hearts here, and we did everything we could to make this the best

anniversary gift they could hope for. The Burks are making special arrangements in

order to place the car in their backyard for years of enjoyment sans driving. We

think that is the sweetest request we have ever received, and have thoroughly

enjoyed being a part of this special couple's loving relat ionship. We wish them

many more years of happiness! ?

Owning a British car can be both fun and rewarding. Driving on the open road is

exhilarating and keeps us young (am I right?!). But driving on the open road with fellow British car owners and enthusiasts is an experience all its own. Ask any of the SVBCC members, and they would agree!

Follow this link to their website to become a member today, and join in on the many activities throughout the year, including the annual British Car Show held the first Saturday of October nestled right here in Waynesboro, Virginia.
