Gaskill Avenue Project

• Purpose: Correct an expanding safety hazard along Gaskill Avenue, a commercial property, and a residential property in Punxsutawney

• Partners: Representative Sam Smith, Jefferson Conservation District, Punxsutawney Borough and the surrounding property owners

• Contractor: Dave Roman Excavating

Problem: Lack of routine maintenance has caused severe erosion and an expanding safety issue.

Problem: Limited options to correct the situation due to existing

conditions

(Project ties into a concrete culvert that goes directly under several hundred feet of commercial/ industrial area and discharges into an Army Corp Flood Protection Area Levee)

Solution: Enclose the stream
