The
And The Winner Is...We are excited to announce the winner of our Christmas Card Design Contest! Gini Lippold, a resident at The Court, painted this scene for the design of this year’s Felician Village Christmas card. The contest began on Monday, October 2, when 24 Felician Village resident artists attended a painting class taught by Silver Lake College Student United Way. The students then had the difficult responsibility of judging the entries and choosing six to go to the final round. Please congratulate Gini when you see her and thank all the artists who participated!

Department Spotlight ReceptionThe reception desk at Felician Village is the first point of contact for most of our clients, visitors and vendors. The reception staff also is the voice of St. Mary’s switchboard. Good customer service is very important to the clients they serve. Greeting each person who walks through the door with a smile and
a helpful attitude is part of what they do on a daily basis, as well as, mail & newspaper distribution, floral delivery and assist other departments with clerical work as needed. The reception desk is staffed seven days a week by one full-time or one of the three part-time, weekend employees.
Meet the Reception Desk Staff“Switchboard Denise” KingI began my employment here with the Felician Sisters on January 24th of 1975. I received on the job training to become a nursing assistant and stayed in that capacity
for 15 years at which time I went to work in the activities department. After approximate-ly 7 years I was approached about taking the reception job as Shirley Jacob, receptionist, was retiring. So here I am over 20 years later as the voice of St. Mary’s. I am married, have a son, a daughter and one awesome little granddaughter. I like to bike and walk our Senior Shar Pei dog in the peace-ful setting of Neshotah Park / Point Beach area.
Mary MeschlerI was invited into the family of employees of Felician Village through Sr. Michaleen who suggested that I may be a good fit for the caus-al reception position. Thank you Sr. Michaleen!
I can say that I do love my job. My thirty some years as an occupational therapist has given me a good background to greet and assist all visiting the reception desk. I love meeting and talking to people and I have met many here at Felician Village that are near and dear to my heart, including staff, residents and families. My husband and I have two grown children and one lovely grandchild. I attend daily mass with many friends at St. Peter the Fish-erman. My spirituality is strong in our Lord Jesus Christ who has led me on this wonderful journey.
Sam RezachekMy name is Sam and I started as part-time receptionist in May 2017. I found out about this job opportunity when I was working for Assist to Transport. I remember driving
to Felician Village to pick up a resident and as I was sitting in the waiting area talking to Denise I told her I would be interested in the receptionist job. As I was loading the resident onto my van Denise asked if I was serious about joining her team and I told her yes. She gave me an application, I filled it out and a week later I was part of this great team. I absolutely love my job and I definitely feel like I’m part of a family here at Felician Village! My team is grateful, understanding, and if I ever have any questions they are always there to answer them for me. Thank you to Mary Olson and Denise for this great opportunity!
Pati KarchI have been with the department one month and I am enjoying it very much. I have met many co-workers and resi-dents which have made we feel very welcome as a part of Felician Village.
My direct co-workers Denise, Samantha and all the volunteers are an awesome help to me!I was raised in Illinois and have been living in WI for 37 years. My wonderful husband and I have been married for 46 years. We have two sons, two grandsons, four granddaughters and one great grandson. I love to go camping and play Bingo.

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” - William Arthur WardAs noted in the quote above, being able to express our gratitude for common everyday things changes our perspective and turns those things into blessings. Many of us, including myself, don’t always recognize the blessings in our daily tasks and routines. As we celebrate this Thanksgiving season in our 130th year of existence, I want to express my deepest thanks and gratitude for the following blessings:• Each employee for the important role you play in this wonderful ministry. You bring care and support with compassion and dignity to our residents and each other. Without your contributions and dedication, we would not be the superb senior living community we are.• The Felician Sisters, here on campus, in providing a visible presence while continuing their service to residents and families. Your daily presence is truly a present to all of us.• All the Felician Sisters - you have provided a magnificent legacy of care and service as well as a vision for tomorrow.• Our Board of Directors for their leadership and vision which are invaluable to our organization.• Our 150+ volunteers for the assistance they provide our residents along with the support given to our employees.• Each resident across campus for choosing to live at Felician Village. It is because of you that we are here and have meaningful work which helps to support our families.May the good things in life be yours in abundance, not only at Thanksgiving but throughout the coming year.Peace and All Good,
