The emotional burden of the family and all the operators that help the Alzheimer patient is enormous: understan- ding one's can be helpful in the management of the patient, just as it can be useful for oneself. Alzheimer's disease revolves around the experience of identity: often, in fact, it is not enough to have a mirror to “see” each other. We must recognize each other. Only in this way we’ll be able to provide assistance to the patient. These are the bases of which we started for the develop- ment of the concept of visual identity presented. We have devised a system consisting of two most important cha- racters in the printing history and very contrasting with each other: the Garamond and the Helvetica. The cha- racters represents on one side the patient, on the other the people supporting him (the family, health workers, volunteers, donors). The different characters are therefore in a reciprocal rela- tionship, but none of them can be missing in order to make the name of the association recognizable. The proposed system can be applied to different support elements, even if individually, it becomes recognizable graphic element, going to distinguish in the illustrative panorama that characterizes most of the visual identities of associations, non-profit organizations and social coope- ratives. Each character forces the gaze of the observer to pay attention, the guide to the reading of the pay-off and aims to convey the solidity of the association.

"Affected by" is more than an association, it is a virtuous model of network, a system that supports and involves all the actors present around the person suffering from Alzheimer's.

The emotional burden of the family and all the operators that help the Alzheimer patient is enormous: understan-ding one's can be helpful in the management of the patient, just as it can be useful for oneself.

Alzheimer's disease revolves around the experience of identity: often, in fact, it is not enough to have a mirror to “see” each other. We must recognize each other. Only in this way we’ll be able to provide assistance to the patient.

These are the bases of which we started for the develop-ment of the concept of visual identity presented. We have devised a system consisting of two most important cha-racters in the printing history and very contrasting with each other: the Garamond and the Helvetica. The cha-racters represents on one side the patient, on the other the people supporting him (the family, health workers, volunteers, donors).

The different characters are therefore in a reciprocal rela-tionship, but none of them can be missing in order to make the name of the association recognizable.

The proposed system can be applied to different support elements, even if individually, it becomes recognizable graphic element, going to distinguish in the illustrative panorama that characterizes most of the visual identities of associations, non-profit organizations and social coope-ratives. Each character forces the gaze of the observer to pay attention, the guide to the reading of the pay-off and aims to convey the solidity of the association.
