Rock owner ousted on Day3 of Vegas poker tourney
Toronto Rock owner and local residentJamie Dawick was eliminated early on Day 3of the World Series of Poker Main Event lastwweek in Las Vegas.
After starting the day with 27,200 chips,Dawick's chip stack diminished quickly andhe found himself needing to make a move.WWith about 19,000 chips in front of him atthe table, Dawick pushed all-in with ace-nine of diamonds. He found some actionwwith the move but also found himself behindimmediately as he ran into ace-queen of
hearts."The first card I saw was a queen and I
knew I was in trouble," Dawick said. There was no help on the turn or river as
Dawick was sent to the rail early."I'm really happy with how I played, but I
definitely suffered some tournament-chang-f ing bad beats," said Dawick, a veteran of
Main Event battles. "The turning point forme was the end of Day 1. If the cards go myway there, it's a different tournament forme. That's poker, though."
