Members of the novice 3 Hawks are Kenedy Cooper, Alex Dameski, Jonmikal Dragojevic, Ryan Eadie, Jackson French, Kaidan Gilbert, Holden Hewitt, Michael Hodowany, Drew Kosack, Jack Loucks, Ryan Marshall, Jake McKinstray , Alexandre Moreau, Duncan Penman, Liam Salerno, Thomas Sinclair , Connor Smith and Will Thompson. The team is coached by Jason Gilbert, Glen French, Kevin Hewitt and Marc Moreau, the trainer is Darren Kosack and team manager is Janine Daoust. The Jim Flack Basketball Academy will take place next week (July 25-28) at the Davis Campus in Brampton, while the Shane Bascoe Basketball School will run the fol- lowing week (Aug. 2-5) at the Trafalgar Road campus in Oakville. The co-ed camps for players ages 8-13 are $100 for four days of instruction and will feature on-court lectures and video instruc- tion as well as work on conditioning, funda- mentals and strength training. Participants will receive an academy T-shirt and camp certificate. After starting the day with 27,200 chips, Dawick's chip stack diminished quickly and he found himself needing to make a move. With about 19,000 chips in front of him at the table, Dawick pushed all-in with ace- nine of diamonds. He found some action with the move but also found himself behind immediately as he ran into ace-queen of hearts. "The first card I saw was a queen and I knew I was in trouble," Dawick said. There was no help on the turn or river as Dawick was sent to the rail early. "I'm really happy with how I played, but I definitely suffered some tournament-chang- ing bad beats," said Dawick, a veteran of Main Event battles. "The turning point for me was the end of Day 1. If the cards go my way there, it's a different tournament for me. That's poker, though."
