Initially the Company only marketed and sold its limited range of NDT Products inSouth Africa but, with the lifting of political sanctions on the country in 1994, GammaTec quicklyand successfully made use of the opportunities presented by the NDT Industry and the rest of theworld. Currently we actively export to over 70 countries worldwide. Our Head Office issituated in Vereeniging, South Africa. Our subsidiary offices in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne andBrussels provide a high profile “ground floor” presence in these regions, with key distributors appointedin various other countries.

    The Vereeniging office services South Africa, the rest of Africa and surrounding Islands as well asthe Indian Ocean Rim. The Middle East, Baltic and Caspian are handled from the Dubai office.     The Acoustic Ranger 5000 device detects holes, blockages, erosion and corrosion in tubes and pipes.The device emits a sound pulse which runs along the inside of the pipe, following it around bends and

     Acoustic Emission Testing Technology Package

    PowerPAC™ is an Acoustic Emission (AE) technology package for testing power transformers. Anon-line monitoring procedure was developed under an EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute)sponsored and tailored collaboration with Physical Acoustics Corp. (Project I.D. No. 051481). Thiscollaboration refined the package with three phases of program develoment resulting in on-line

    monitoring of power transformers to detect, locate and assess electrical and thermal faults.AEsensors are installed on the transformer covering both the tank and the LTC compartment (if one ispresent) along with sensors to monitor pump current, fan current, load current, tank wall tempera-ture and LTC compartment wall temperature collecting data for comparison with the AE data duringpost test data analysis. In order to observe the effects of a complete load cycle, data is collectedover a period of 24 hours. Results are presented showing the location (in 3-D) and types of faults.A grading system is used for each fault and provides an overall evaluation of the transformer formaintenance or operation planning.

    Loose Parts Monitoring Equipment (LPME)

    LPME monitors, detects and evaluates metallic loose parts in reactor systems using transientacoustic signal analysis. Acoustic sensors/accelerometers are permanently located at strate-gic positions on the system being monitored (in direct contact with pipes and vessels), where

    loose parts are most likely to impact. The sensors detect the impact of any loose parts as theycome in contact with the pipe or vessel wall. The sensors detect the mechanical vibration

    propagating from the point of impact and convert it into an electrical signal that is amplified bythe system preamplifier, processed by the Loose Parts Monitor Equipment Data Acquisition

    System (LPME-DAS) and recorded by the Data Acquisition Computer (DAC). The software

    (LPME-DAQ) alerts the operator and control room when a loose part is detected, and

    provides a user-friendly interface for the operator to analyze the transients, differentiatebetween noise and impact signals and determine location and impact characteristics.

    USB Acoustic Emission (AE) Node

    The USB AE Node is a single channel Acoustic Emission (AE) Digital Signal Processor with full AE hit

    The TesTex, Inc TX-4400 ECT Inspection System is based on the Eddy CurrentTechnique to quickly and accurately inspect non-ferrous metal tubing from the I.D.     Prodigy 8C boiler tube/pipe scanning system

    Labino® UVG4-HEAD 

    The Labino UVG4 is a UV LED Head Lamp designed to free the user’s hands during an inspection.The lamp can be adjusted in three different angles. The operator can switch the angles of the lightduring the inspection. The rubber bands are adjustable and fit helmets as well as heads. The batteryis located in the back of the structure and there are no cables hanging from the lamp.

    The UVG4 reach full power instantly. The on/off button is positioned at the back of the lamp to preventaccidental activation. Each head light weights 271 grams (9.4 oz). The lamp contains one ultravioletlight emitting diode (LED) that peaks at 365nm. The life of each LED is estimated at 30,000 hours.The battery has a running time of 3 hours (+/- 5%) and can be recharged from a normal outlet or avehicle cigarrette lighter socket. The lamp is also equipped with a current regulator that keeps the UVintensity constant even when the battery fades. Each unit comes with an extra battery.The Labino Head Light is also available as white light.     In order to provide quality control of industrial products, Cobalt-60 is a preferred isotope forthe radiography of steel. The Exertus Vox 100 Projector is an integration of all the ExertusProjector line and has the ability to accept Co-60 sources.

    The Exertus Vox 100 Projector integrates an improved source channel based on a newhelicoidal design, which makes maintenance easier. It also allows smoother movement ofthe source assembly inside the device, making it easier for the operator and improvingsafety.

    Safety is an integral part of the design of the Exertus Vox 100 Projector. A three colour signalindicator provides the user with a clear visual guide as to the position of the source at all times.Once the source is safe inside the Projector and the Projector is closed (Safe Mode) the signalis green. When the source is inside the Projector, but the camera is open and ready for exposurea yellow signal indicates. When the source is outside the Projector and in the Exposure Modea red signal indicates.

    Gammatec's Push/Pull Remote Control Winding Mechanism is designed for winding outisotopes on all recognized industrial gamma projectors used in gamma radiographyinspection.

    The units are available in either reel or pistol-grip versions. These are of light-weightconstruction and standard accessories include inner drive cable, outer hoses, gearboxand connector fittings.

    To ensure a smooth push/pull operation, the robust and lightweight aluminium gearboxhousing incorporates two dust-proof ball races as well as a 100mm diameter gear with acable pressure spring which provides maximum contact between gear and cable at alltimes.
