Pong made the first consoles popular when they became available at home
Before home consoles people had to go to the arcade at certain times.
They had to pay for each game
So people were restricted as to when, where and how they consumed in terms of video games

They used cartridges and were available to play at home
This meant that audiences could consume games pretty much whenever they wanted to
Mega drive gave a better home gaming experience with more advanced games
