This market research was done prior to developing a new website for a new and used retail video game store called Games R Us. It was conducted to determine some best practices of the target demographic that the store wishes to reach. The results will be used to enhance the layout, priority, and interface of the website.

Survey objective

This questionnaire was administered by the website development team to individuals who have experience with video games. The video game player market has changed dramatically over the past decade and in response we decided to include the input of any person who has played video games. No age, race, gender, or other considerations were beyond the respondents experience with video games was taken into consideration for valid research candidates.

Project Management

The proposed Games R Us system will be hosted on a cloud-based server company allowing for maintenance and upkeep of content with ease from anywhere. Content and database can be maintained from any location with secure access through SSL login capabilities. The admin and other chosen employees of Games R Us will be maintaining the website keeping cost down. The current small IT company will no longer be needed.

Content Storage

Existing social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and others used to create a web presence without the development of a standalone website. This concept would greatly decrease the cost of the project but increase the amount of upkeep needed from Games R Us employees. It would also decrease the usability and usefulness of the website to its customers.
