Scott Kingery opened the bottom of the first with a single up the middle, but that would bethe last hit for Clearwater until a Carlos Tocci base knock opened the ninth.

Elniery Garcia suffered his first loss of the season for the Clearwater Threshers, after hewas touched up for four runs on six hits in 5.2 innings. Garcia (2-1) struck out seven, andissued just one walk.

WEEKEND WARRIORS: Clearwater’s 4-0 loss last night was the Threshers’ first loss in aweekend game this season.

The Threshers are now 3-1 on Saturdays this year, and are 3-0 on Sundays. Clearwaterhas outscored its opponents 35-13 on the weekends.

APRIL REVIEW: The Clearwater Threshers turned in a strong opening month, finishing15-8 in a tie for first place in the FSL North.

The Threshers head into May after posting the third-best team batting average (.242) andthird-best ERA (2.45) in the FSL.

Individually, Kyle Martin (20) and Mitch Walding (19) are first and second in the league inRBI’s, and rank second and third in home runs, as Walding has six and Martin five. ScottKingery is tied for second in doubles (6) and is third in runs (18), while on the pitching endRanfi Casimiro is tied for sixth in the FSL in strikeouts (25), and Thomas Eshelman is fifthin WHIP (0.76).

The 15 wins for Clearwater were the most in the month of April since the Threshers went16-8 in the opening month in 2007, the year they won the FSL Championship.
