DESIGN INSPIRATIONHave you ever been entirely consumed and lost in thought while staring into a campfire? The gentle warmth of the fire and the crackling of the flames is comforting and mesmerizing. The subtle movement of the flames is intertwined with spontaneous and unpredictable motion, setting the scene for the creation of NextGen’s title, Flame™. To capture the right mood for Flame™, we took a different approach to the typical yellow, orange and red flame.Instead, we enhanced the magic of the flames by incorporating blue and purple glows. The reel modifier features are perfectly captured as the game combusts into action and the flames change colour to ignite the reels.

Capturing the essence of fire inspired a protagonist for the game as well. A smoking lead character was created with nods to the cyberpunk subculture. Symbols with glows and reflections off metal surfaces helped to enhance the environment. All of these elements combined to set the scene and create a game that draws you in and then excites through visual flair and flamboyance.
