With the loss of Jason Parker forthe season, the numbers change to three return-ing starters. The statistics below reflect thereturning production, excluding Parker: Points 80.6% Rebounds 82.4% Assists 71.4% Blocks 83.4% Steals 72.1%

Last Time Out Athletes in Action used 14-of-30 shooting

from beyond the three-point arc to take theWildcats to overtime before the Cats managed to

pull out the win, 88-83. Three Cats scored in double figures, led by

Tayshaun Prince’s 19 points. Gerald Fitch scored18 highlighted by 70 percent shooting from thefield and two important free throws late in over-time.

Did You Know? AIA’s three-point performance on Sunday

matched its mark from last year’s exhibition gameagainst the Cats, a 94-84 UK win. The exhibitionsquad has now shot 14-of-30 from three-pointrange two years in a row.

Did You Know II? That Kentucky is ranked No. 3 in the SportsIllustrated College Basketball Preview Issue whichwill be released next week? The Cats trail Dukeand Illinois, meaning a Blue Devil will own theinfamous cover. For the complete poll, check outpage 5 of these notes.

The Walking Wounded Thankfully, the Wildcats have their deepest

roster in more than a decade. UK continues to bat-tle injuries as the season begins. Rashaad Carruth suffered an ankle sprain in

practice two weeks ago and is questionable forThursday, while Marquis Estill continues tobattle back spasms and also is questionable forWKU. J.P. Blevins sprained his ankle againstAthletes in Action on Sunday and is listed asquestionable for UK’s game with theHilltoppers.

Their Old Kentucky HomeThis season’s roster boasts six products from the

Bluegrass State, the most since the 1991 season. J.P. Blevins (Edmonton), Marquis Estill

(Richmond), Cory Sears (Corbin), MattHeissenbuttel (Lexington), Josh Carrier (BowlingGreen) and Adam Chiles (Louisville) all hailfrom within the state’s borders.

In ‘91, Reggie Hanson, Richie Farmer, JohnPelphrey, Deron Feldhaus, Michael Parks andTodd Bearup all came from Kentucky. Muchlike Sears and Heissenbuttel, Parks and Bearupwere both walk-ons 11 seasons ago.

Face Lift Fans attending UK’s season opener will rec-ognize changes at floor level. In addition to thenew floor that was purchased last summer, courtside fan seating has been added as well.

Currently, 14 new “scholarship seats” have dis-placed some traditional media seating and beeninstalled across from the UK bench while sixhave been added across from the visitor’s bench.
