Camp Registration

2 p.m. – 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019 Main Lodge

The camp director and co-directors are firm on registration times. For a successful camp, our extra time before registration is in working with our camp counselors from our counties. There will not be any supervision for youth who arrive at camp early! Parents, please note that campers wishing to stay together in the same cabin should arrive TOGETHER, NOT EARLY, to register for lodging. Late Campers – Please let your 4-H Professional know if a camper is going to be late and approximate arrival time or call Jo Williams before camp at 740-354-7879 or the day of camp at 740-286-4058 (where you might get an answering machine). Please keep in mind that the camper will be housed in available space, but not necessarily with their friends. Tribes – We encourage our campers to meet new friends, so campers are not guaranteed the same Tribe.

Prohibited ItemsOhio 4-H places priority on taking necessary and reasonable actions to safeguard the overall safetyand well-being of all program participants. Prohibited items that are never allowed at any Ohio 4-H program where minor participants are present include alcohol, tobacco products in any form, illegal drugs, pornography, discriminatory iconography and/or messaging, and weapons not included in an approved 4-H shooting sports program.

Additionally, youth participants (campers and counselors) may not possess cell phones or other internet-enabled devices during 4-H camp. Camp Program Directors will determine consequences for possessing a cell phone. The State 4-H Office recommends a zero tolerance approach: If an individual is found with a prohibited item, they will be sent home at the family's expense. Information on Ohio 4-H’s Search and Seizure policy can be found at http://4hcanterscave.osu.edu.

By registering for this activity, the camper is agreeing to follow all Camp policies.

* * *Sheldon, from the popular series, The Big Bang Theory, says “Bazinga!” following a practical joke. At STEM Camp, we shout it whenever we discover something new, have fun, make a new friend, or accomplish a goal. (It’s also fun to say following a practical joke.) STEM Camp follows some other Big Bang Theory traditions, including playing “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock," singing “Soft Kitty,” and working out roommate agreements to help campers live together in harmony. Campers may discover their inner “Sheldon,” “Leonard,” or even “Penny” as they explore STEM topics, engage in teambuilding and engineering design activities, perform campfire skits, and have a great time!

Forestry/Wood Science!!Speyside Bourbon Cooperage, Inc.Speyside is based in Jackson, Ohio. Our parent company is located in France (TonnellerieFrancois Freres SA). Speyside Bourbon Cooperage produces only new bourbon barrels. Other branches of the organization produce used barrels among other products.

All our skill goes into making top quality barrels to meet the requirements and expectations of spirit-makers all over the world. Our goal at Speyside Bourbon Cooperage is to ensure that barrels become a modern spirit-making instrument by combining age-old craftsmanship and state of the art techniques and equipment developed by our research and development department. Coopering is a craft and will always be so; however, by incorporating new ideas with existing methods we are now able to build a barrel that is stronger, consistent in size and quality with little variability.
