People thought heavy objects fell faster. Galileo was not sure. He decided to test his idea. He went to a tall tower. He dropped two balls at the same time. One was heavy. One was light. They both hit the ground at about the same time. He said that heavy objects did not fall faster.

Galileo invented a thermometer. At first it had a tube with water inside. The water moved up when it got hotter. The water moved down when it was cold.

People though the Moon was smooth and round. Galileo used his telescope. He looked at the Moon and what he did he find out? It was not smooth. He could see mountains on it. He could also see something which looked like valleys. He drew what he sew.

Galileo used his telescope to look at the planets. He saw Jupiter and Saturn. He learned a lot of new things. He could see four moons moving around Jupiter. He saw rings of ice, dust and rocks around Saturn. the views were amazing.
