About us
• Research has shown that gadget usage by the young has adverse effects on their growth and development
• Our project aims to bring about awareness about such behavior, and present alternatives for parents to keep their children entertained
About: Objectives
1. Raise awareness on the impacts of excessiveuse of gadgets in children through employingvarious appeals

Carnival
• Organized aiming to trendify the moderate usage of gadgets, and promoting alternatives
• Two-pronged approach – Raising awareness of negative impacts of excess
use of gadgets, hence the importance of moderating it
– Igniting the children’s interest in physical toys
• Held Monthly
• At Community Centres
Carnival
• Goodie Bags to be distributed to participants
• Contents of the goodie bag:
– Vouchers for Family Friendly Places
– Sample Toys Kit (elaborated in the upcoming slides)
• Gad-rID Mascot
– Kids friendly
– Families may take photos with the mascot

• Put around the carnival for parents to observe
• Appeals to:

• Parenting/ Pediatrics experts share insightful information with Parents
• Celebrity Parents invited to share their views and opinions
• Parenting topic for discussion released 1 week before on the Official Facebook page

• Production group will go around the carnival to get participants to do a series of tests of their cognitive and motor skills
• Process will be filmed down and screened during the talkshow
• Entertainment

• Question and Answer session for all
• Questions may be posed to the experts or celebrities parents
• Serve as a platform for clarifications

• Collaboration with National Heritage Board
• Aim to provide the children an opportunity to try traditional games and hence an alternative to gadgets

Game Booths: Natural Easy Craft!
• Making of simple handicraft and handmade toys
– E.g. Green Bean Shaker
• Guided by volunteers
• Aim to provide the children an opportunity to pick up handicraft as a hobby

• Collaboration with National Library Board
• Story-telling sessions at regular intervals
• Aim to provide the children an opportunity to try pick up reading as a habit
Toys Kit
• Convenient kit that has many portable toys
• Toys target cognitive development
• Provide an alternate source of entertainment to electronic devices
• Toys may be rented on a monthly basis, so that the children are able to change the toys inexpensively every few months
Toys Kit: Rental
• Mobile rental of toys are made available through Rental Vans
• Vans with the toys would go to different estates and childcare centres for parents to rent and return their toys
Type of Toys: VARK and Steiner’s Theory
• Visual, Aural, Reading, Kinesthetic
• Toys will appeal to the 4 abovementioned aspects of the child, and hence help in their development
• Additionally, toys would help according to Steiner’s Theory of Development
