US President visited Bavarian village of Krün with Angela Merkel today.

He joked that he would buy a pair of lederhosen as he snacked on weisswurst and the local wheat beer.

The two leaders vowed to uphold 'enduring friendship' of US and Germany.

Leaders of the G7 countries are meeting for a summit on global issues.

Those meeting are (left to right) European Council President Donald Tusk, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, US President Barack Obama, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Italy's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

The leaders are meeting at Schloss Elmau, a converted castle which is now a hotel.
