Product description Primer Skold from G-Cover is a styrene acrylic polymer base coating, has an outstanding weathering resistance, besides it also seals any applied material, making any applied element waterproof. Primer Skold is designed to work with the G-Cover family products. Characteristics Thermal expansion Primer Skold has high thermal expansion coefficient, adapting itself to the expansions resulting from temperature changes in the substrate. It has a 700% range of flexibility, which allows it to support the expansions caused by temperature variations without presenting cracks. Composition Primer Skold has a stable aqueous dispersion and it’s formed by a styrene acrylic polymer of high molecular weight distributed in particular forms of 0.1 a 0.5 μm, surrounded by an aqueous medium. Primer Skold is emulsified in water, does not contain asbestos, solvents, epoxics or any toxic compound in its formula. Weathering resistance Primer Skold is a waterproof protector that doesn´t allow corrosion and oxidation of the coated material, giving it longer lifespan; stands acid rain, no water absorption, no fungi and bacteria growth, no odors. Applications Primer Skold has different uses, works as a sealer for porous walls and sheets; with its flexibility it adapt to expansions or contractions of the applied material avoiding cracks and fissures. In the sealing application it combines with reinforcing mesh of double screening to ensure a good performance. Primer Skold 1000, is an additive for concrete, that at the moment of replacing a third of water in the mixture of concrete with the coating, it becomes waterproof concrete, it doesn´t allow water to penetrate and gives higher hardness to the element. Primer Skold 1000, is used as a sealer for natural rocks due to its weathering resistance, is used in floors and walls, avoiding the pass of water and giving longer lifespan to the applied element, does not change the color and it has mat and glossy finish. G-Cover® Primer Sköld
UsesThe versatility of Primer Skold allows applying it practically on any surface giving insulating properties. Can be applied on roof sheets, concrete, mortar, metal, tiles, cardboard, sheets, drywalls, durock, etc.
ApplicationThe surface to apply must be cleaned from waste, oils and rust or any kind of element that may affect the adherence of the coating; cleaning can be done with broom and water. With the surface clean and dry, proceed to apply Primer Skold.The product should be applied in 2 layers seeking that the final thickness is 8 mills. The coating can be applied directly from the bucket, without lower o changing its density. The application can be done with aspersion equipment, roller or brush, seeking to leave a uniform layer on the surface to apply. For the application of the different layers, the previous one should be dry to the touch.
MaintenancePrimer Skold does not require maintenance; thanks to its waterproof system and adherence, does not allow the product falling, this way you can save from constant maintenance.
