    What is FRAS Young Aviators?

    - The FRAS Young Aviators program, the first of its kind in Malaysia has been specificallydeveloped as an introduction to create awareness among the school students between theages of 10 to 18 to the Wonderful World of Aviation.

    FRAS Young Aviators Objective

    - FRAS Young Aviators objective is to create an opportunity to let our future aviators toexplore the World of Aviation, Build Their Interest and Ambition in the Aviation Industry.The future of our Aviation Industry belongs to our Young Malaysians.

    FRAS Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Program

    - The program will be conducted in English to improve the mastery of English and theHigher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) program, in line with Ministry of Education Malaysia(MOE) include understanding of Aircraft Airframe, Engine and System, Communication,Planning, Radar, Air Traffic Controllers, Aviation Law, Build & Fly a Model Plane, RemoteControl and Line Flying.

    01 History Of Flight 08 - 18 History Of Flight talks about the Discovery of Flight from 1500s,

    to flight by the Wright Brothers to our present flight.

    02 Basic Aircraft Controls 08 - 09  Basic Aircraft Controls talks about the basic three controls of an

    aircraft, flight controls and movements.

    03 Pilot In Command ( Photo ) 08 - 12

    Pilot In Command (Photo) allows the student to feel the aircraft

    flight controls in the pilot in command seat with the headset on

    and finally a photo shot.

    04 Pencil Colour A Plane 08 - 09

    Pencil Colour A Plane is where students are given a set of pencil

    colour and A3 size paper with picture of an aircraft Cessna 172

    to colour. Upon completion, marks will be awarded.

    05   Build and Fly A SimplePlane

      08 - 09   Build and Fly A Simple Plane where students are given each anEagle Balsa Glider or paper to build a plane and fly it.

    06 Water Colour A Plane 10 - 12

    Water Colour A Plane where students are given set of water

    colour and A3 size paper with a picture of an Aircraft A380 to

    colour. Upon completion, marks will be awarded.

    07 Fly The Circuit Pattern 10 - 12  Fly The Circuit Pattern where students are given a cardboard to

    build a plane put it on and fly the circuit Line up, Takeoff,

    Crosswind, Base leg and Final to land.

    08 Build A Brick Plane 10 - 12  Build a Brick Plane where students are given a set of bricks and

    manual first to build an airplane following by helicopter.

    09  Build and Fly a Simple

    Props Plane  10 - 12

    Build and Fly a Simple Props Plane where students are given

    each a Sky Streak aircraft with propeller and rubber band

    motor to build and fly it.

    10 Aircraft Familiarization 08 - 18  Aircraft Familiarization talks about the different type of 

    aircrafts, pilot certificate, aviation careers, cockpit layout and

    effect of flight and engine controls.

    11 Build a Brick Plane 13 - 14  Build a Brick Plane students are given a set of bricks and

    manual to build a rescue helicopter.

    as per the ICAO layout.

    Aviation Law students learns about (MCAR 1996) Malaysia

    Civil Aviation Regulation 1996 governing flying in Malaysia

    including AIP Malaysia, AIC Malaysia and AIP Supplement.

    14 Marshalling 13 - 14

    Marshalling where the students learns the correct way of 

    marshalling aircraft on the ground and time permit to do live

    marshalling at the airside of Senai Airport.

    15 Meteorology 13 - 14

    Meteorology where the students learn about the weather

    types Breeze, Inversion Layer, Clouds, Turbulence Air and

    Weather Forecast.

    16 Pilot Decision Marking 13 - 14Pilot Decision Marking student learns about pilot makesdecision regarding events which involve interaction between

    the pilot, aircraft, environment and the flight operation.

    17 Fly The Circuit Pattern 13 - 14

    Fly The Circuit Pattern where students will learn and practice

    with 2 radio communication, how pilots and tower

    communication are carried out during takeoff and landing.

    18 Met Station Visit 13 - 14  Met station Visit where students will visit Senai Airport Met

    Station and learn how weather reports are taken and

    information pass to control tower and pilot in flight.

    19 Build and Fly A Balsa Plane 13 - 14

    Build and Fly A Balsa Plane where students are given a Sky

    Motorplane aircraft with propeller, landing gear and rubber

    band motor to build and fly it.

    20 Radar and Navigation Aids 15 - 16

    Radar And Navigation Aids where students will learn how a

    primary radar, secondary radar and navigational aids are used

    to guide aircraft pilot flying from one point to another point

    and approach to land at airport.

    pilots communicate over the Radio Transmission of Letters,

    Controllers and pilots communicate over the Radio to carry

    out circuit and Flight Training Area.

    23 VFR RT Navigation 15 - 16

    VFR RT Navigation where students will learn how Air Traffic

    Controllers and pilots communicate over the radio during

    Navigation flight phase.

    24 Distress Procedure 15 - 16

    Distress Procedures where students will learn how Air Traffic

    Controllers and pilots communicate over the radio during an

    Emergency Call.

    25 Tower and Radar Visit 15 - 16

    Tower And Radar Visit where students will learn how aircrafts

    are monitored in the sky. The Control Tower the takeoff and

    approach to land.

    26 Build and Fly A Balsa Plane 17 - 18

    Build and Fly a Balsa Plane where students are given a Strato

    Streak with a longer wing span aircraft, king size rubber band

    with propeller and landing gear to build and fly it or a Brick

    Plane.

    27 Aircraft Airframe 17 - 18  Aircraft Airframe where students are learns about aircraft

    components, landing gear system and instrument.

    28 Aircraft Engine and System 17 - 18 Aircraft Engine and Systems where students learn how the

    aircraft piston engine, jet engine and system work.

    Pre-Flight Preparation and Aircraft Checks where students

    learn how preparation is carried out by pilots before doing the

    Aircraft Maintenance Schedule and Checks where students willlearn about aircraft maintenance requirement and types of 

    checks to be carried out.

    31 Basic Navigation Reading 17 - 18 Basic Navigation reading where students will learn about Earth,

    chart symbols and reading co-ordinates.

    32 Basic Navigation Planning 17 - 18  Basic Navigation Planning where students will learn how to

    plan a flight route by measuring the distance, bearing, flight

    time and filling the navigation log sheet and flight plan.

    33 Build and Fly A Gold Wing 17 - 18  Build and Fly a Gold Wing Plane where students are given a

    Gold Wing Model plane with plans to build and fly it. Estimate

    building time is 3.0 hours.
