The Aim of this PresentationTo inform you, the parents/carers, about what year 7 and life at Mayfield will look like for your child.
The Aim of your Child’s First Year at Mayfield

The role of the Year Group Leader

your ability• No mobile phones, iPods or headphones (these will be confiscated if seen around the school)

Blazer - to be worn every day Polo shirt with logo V Neck School jumper with logo Black trousers or skirt - knee length (no elasticated material) Black leather school shoes No jewellery (Except 1 pair of small studs) No make-up No nail varnish
The shoes below are not considered appropriate school shoes
The tops below are not to be worn in school and will be confiscated
Attendance Excellent attendance - Whole school target 95%
Parents responsibility to call the school if a child is unable to attend
Excellent Punctuality to school and each lessonSame day detention with the form tutor for lateness
90% attendance over one year = 20 days ofmissed lessons = 100 lessons
Research shows that 17 days absence meansStudents’ achievement drops by one GCSE grade
Extra-curricular Clubs Challenge We want to ensure that your child makes the most of all of
the opportunities on offer at Mayfield.
There is a direct correlation between attendance at extra-curricular clubs and academic achievement. As well as increasing self esteem and social skills.
