Future tenses: WILL/GOING TO
The future Simple has 2 differents forms in English: “WILL” and “BE GOING TO.”
WILL has to do with a decision without planning it before.
I will have a cup of tea. She will pick up the phone.
WILL/GOING TO
A) To talk about future predictions “When we arrive home, the children will be
in bed”
B) To express a promise “I promise I will love you forever”
C) To express an offer “That bag looks heavy, I will carry it for you”
WILL + infinitive
A) To express plans and intentions
“Are you going to do anything this weekend?
Yes, I am going to read a book”
B) To make predictions.
“It is very cloud, I think it is going to rain”
Going to + infinitive
Affirmative: I will travel to Madrid in december.
Interrogative: Will you travel by bus?
Negative: I will not travel with you or I won´t travel with you.
Future tense form: WILL
Affirmative: I am going to study for the test.
Interrogative: Are you going to get out at night?
Negative: She looks sick. I think she is not going to get out tonight.
Future tense form: GOING TO
Tomorrow: I will see you tomorrow.
Next week: I am going to study the next week.
Next month: She will travel the next month.
Next year: I think he will get married the next year.
