FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE TENSE

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE• There are twelve verb tenses in the English Language.

– simple Present– Simple Past– Simple Future– Present Perfect– Past Perfect– Future Perfect

– Present Progressive– Past Progressive– Future Progressive– Present Perfect Progressive– Past Perfect Progressive– Future Perfect Progressive

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

• The future perfect progressive emphasizes the duration of an activity that will be in progress before another time or event in the future.

• used for an on-going action that will be completed at some specified time in the future.

• Also known as Future Perfect Continuous.

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE• The structure for the tense is will have been verb + ing• Can use two form when making a Future Perfect Progressive

statement. These are:

(Subject + will + have been + verb in present participle)

(subject + be going to + have been + verb in present participle)

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE• Example will– I will have been studying college by the time Mom allows

me to see boys– I am going to have been studying college by the time moo

allows me to see boys.

• Example be going to– Your dog will have been dying of hunger by the time you

feed it.– Your dog is going to have been dying of hunger by the time

you feed it.

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

• For Negative sentence

– (Subject + will not + have been + verb in present participle)

– (Subject + am/is/are not + going + have been + verb in present participle)

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE• Example will not

– I will not have been studying college by the time Mom allows me to see boys.

– Your dog will not have been dying of hunger by the time you fed it.• Example not going to

– I am not going to have been studying college by the time Mom allows me to see boys.

– Your dog is not going to have been dying hunger by the time you feed it

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

• For “Question”– (will + subject + have been + verb in present

participle)– (am/is/are + subject + going to + have been + verb

in present participle)

FUTURE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

• Example will– Will I have been studying college by the time Mom

allows me to see boys?– Will your dog have been dying of hunger by the time

you feed it.• Example be going to– Am I going to have been studying college by the time

Mom allows me to see boys?– Is your dog going to have been dying of hunger by the

time you feed it.

Singular Plural

I will be walking we will be walking

you will be walking you will be walking

he/she/it will be walking they will be walking

I will be sleeping we will be sleeping

you will be sleeping you will be sleeping

he/she/it will be sleeping they will be sleeping

Singular pluralThere is no future progressive for the "to be" verb. "Will be being" is expressed simply as "will be": "We will be being happy."

By this time tomorrow night, I will be sleeping in my own bed. Next fall, we will be enjoying all the vegetables we planted last

spring. Will we be spending too much money if we buy that big-screen TV?
