FUSION ERP Inventory Cycle Count Process
This document describes the process that is used to generate and reconcile a cycle
count using FUSION ERP.
Programmer Notes –
- Set all parts to class A with SQL script
- Set high/low limits, frequency, used in SQL table Cabc
- Create count by initializing in Create ABC Cycle
Cycle counting is located in the Inventory Module of FUSION ERP.

“Count Date” – The date of the actual count. (Usually a future date.)
“ABC Class” – Classification you are going to count.
“Cycle Count ID” – Unique number assigned to count for catalog purposes.
Click – ADD
System will automatically load “Assign Parts to a Cycle Count”. This can also be accessed
through INVENTORY>INVENTORY MGMT>EDIT>ASSIGN PARTS TO A CYCLE COUNT.
NOTE –
- BE SURE THE INVENTORY JOURNAL IS OPEN FOR ALL PERIODS DURING THE CYCLE
COUNT PROCESS. (I.E. IF RECONCILATION TAKES PLACE IN A MONTH AFTER ACTUAL
COUNT)
- IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO DIVIDE THE COUNT INTO SMALLER MANAGEABLE PIECES AS
OPPOSED TO ONE LARGE “WALL TO WALL” COUNT. EXAMPLES – SHELVES, ROWS,
AREA, ETC. (MULTIPLE CYCLE COUNT ID’S) THIS WILL MAKE THE DATA MORE
MANAGEABLE. SYSTEM RESPONSE WILL BE FASTER.
- A PART NUMBER CAN ONLY APPEAR ON ONE OPEN UNRECONCILED COUNT AT A
TIME.

Use the filters provide to establish the count list –
- Part Number
- Locations
- Product Codes
- Product Classes
Select the parts to be included in the count.

When you are ready to begin the count, you must “Lock“ the count. The count sheets printed
will then also include the lots associated with the current inventory.

If during the process of doing the physical count, you find parts that you need to add to the
count, these may be added using the following process –
INVENTORY>INVENTORY MGMT>EDIT>ADD PARTS/LOTS TO A CYCLE COUNT

You can a Part Number and/or Lot Number to the count
After count is complete, enter the inventory reconciliation (Actual Physical Cycle Counts)

Chose your “Cycle Count ID”, then “Select”. Enter actual counts in pink cells. Note they will turn
green when count is added.

After ALL parts are counted and counts are entered on reconciliation form shown on previous
page, review the Variance that will be created by the Reconciliation –

Check the box to include unreconciled cycle counts
After ALL parts are counted and counts are entered on reconciliation, update the inventory
based on the counts.

Test and validate the lots by selecting “Test Lot Allocations”. This will confirm you are not
adjusting quantities not supported by the lots in the system. Examples –
- WARNINGS – This will be displayed in a situation where you are asking the system to
adjust the lot quantity on hand to be a larger number than when the lot was
originally created. You can proceed with this situation; the system is only warning
you that this condition exists in one of your counts.
- FATAL ERRORS – This will be displayed where you are asking the system to adjust the
lot quantity on hand to be a negative number. You cannot proceed until you correct
this situation.
Check the log prior to “Update Inventory” to see where these conditions exist and correct if
needed. If there are no errors this will be displayed.
NOTE – The system assumes you counted on the last minute of the day of the count. Any activity the
occurs between the count day and the day the count is reconciled is reversed for the reconciliation
process so the system looks the way it was for the part numbers included in the count on the day the
count took place. This is not seen by the user, but should be a consideration during the reconciliation
process.
