BUSINESS GUIDANCE

Page 10: Fuse spark1 presentation

Did you ever need to bounce a new idea off someone? Or look for guidance on a business issue?

As a member of FUSE you have access to: ü  164 companies - large and small, young and old. ü  Practical experience and expertise! ü  Very successful businesses and some very bright entrepreneurs. Let’s create a culture of businesses helping each other and working together to make the South East the place to do business. Every business here has something to offer, and something to gain.

What can you do to help? It’s simple… ü  In the “What skills or resource will you donate to

others?” section of your FUSE profile, update it with specific skills you have, or domain expertise e.g. Technology, HR, International Sales, etc.

ü  The more specific the better. How can you get advice or guidance? ü  Click on Members, enter your search criteria, and

then you will be presented with a list of members who may be able to assist.

ü  Email them directly, or contact them through the FUSE Administrator.

SERVICE CLUSTER IRELAND

Page 14: Fuse spark1 presentation

All companies, irrespective of size, sector or status can improve competitiveness and profitability by focusing on their customer and optimising service delivery. Our vision is to establish the South East as the internationally recognised home of service innovation and competency in Ireland. We created Service Cluster Ireland to drive growth, innovation and competitiveness amongst service intensive businesses like ours. It is an industry led cluster creating a “space” and focal point for service intensive companies of all sectors and sizes to come together.

Activities ü  Develop and publish case studies from member

companies as tangible evidence of service innovation

in Ireland

ü  Deliver programmes in service innovation and

service design

ü  Share best practice among member companies

ü  Promote the South East as a target location for

potential service orientated FDI

ü  Connect with other international clusters to assist

members in growing their markets “By 2015 Ireland will be recognised globally as the home of high growth, innovative, internationally trading services businesses of scale” Enterprise Ireland, Strategy for Internationally Traded Services, 2008.

PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Page 16: Fuse spark1 presentation

Have you a product or a service that you want to sell? Do you know who the local buyers for that product or service are? Do these buyers know that you are on their doorstep? Our vision is to create a database of information that will facilitate and encourage local purchasing of products and services within the South East region. This is a South East Business 2 Business initiative: ü  Sellers need to know what is being purchased in the region ü  Buyers need to know who can provide the product or service locally

How it will work ü  FUSE will create a database that will detail the products and services that large organisations in the region are buying ü  Approved FUSE members will be given access to the details in this database ü  FUSE members can then approach a defined contact in the buying organisation to whom they can present their product or service ü  The database is currently in construction The Benefits ü  The buyer has a local source of supply ü  The seller has a local customer

BUSINESS INVESTMENT

Page 18: Fuse spark1 presentation

Who is it for? ü  Entrepreneurs who want to start or grow their business and want investment. ü  Entrepreneurs with time and money to offer who are interested in investing in another business in the region. What’s on offer? ü  Financial investment from another entrepreneur in the region. ü  Guidance and advice to accompany that investment. ü  Opportunity to pitch your business idea to potential investors. ü  Be part of growing businesses in the region.

How will it work? ü  FUSE will help introduce investors and investees to each other.

ü  An event will be organised where entrepreneurs new and established will get the chance to pitch for investment to investors.
