Micro Dwellings is a moveable, modular system which can be configured in an infinite number of ways due to its geometry. They can be built onto existing construction, submerged, or mounted on wheels to create the basis for personalized social settings. The system allows for changes that might occur in lifestyle, such as having children, separation, or family stays. The system is capable of growing, shrinking, and dividing, mimicking a natural cellular organism.

Pad is a graceful example of modular construction, with a fixed core that permits absolute flexibility from room to room. The house sits on a pre-cast reinforced concrete foundation. Like its kin, most of the structure is fabricated off-site and delivered for quick assembly. The walls are essentially 3-ply: glass composite for interior and exterior with foamed glass inside, creating naturally bright, lightweight, fireproof modules.

This patented method of construction, in approx. 60-120 minutes, produces circular-based, monolithic, reinforced concrete shell structures, with elliptical section, ranging in size from 12 to 40 meters in diameter. Over 1,500 buildings are in use in 23 Countries

Smartshax are intentionally unremarkable little cabins, which are meant to blend in and highlight their natural surroundings. 6

GREEN TOWERS IN THE PARK: Seoul Commune 2026The towers’ internal functions are separated into public, private, and commercial, offering purely-private rooms

called “cells” and communal spaces for public activity. Members of the commune may range from permanent residents to nomadic short-term lodgers. “Bulb” areas serve as commercial spaces including offices, public services, and welfare/medical facilities.

The skeleton of the towers is constructed using different types of glass, from photovoltaic glass to recessed glass panels that create shaded balconies. Atop the glass is a geotextile that allows for the growth of vines and other flora that provide additional cooling and environmental advantages to the building and surrounding site.

The location is San Francisco. The year is 2106. The city is powered by geothermal energy “mushrooms” and algae-harvesting towers produce hydrogen, which is stored and distributed via a series of carbon nanotube walls. Fog catchers capture moisture from the atmosphere to distill fresh water.

A network of above ground and underground systems “fulfill infrastructural needs for the movement of people, water, hover-cars, and energy throughout the city”. Taking cues from nature, a giant super system resembling seaweed and chantrelle mushroom will hold together this network to collect water, power and distribute it across the city. 13

Los Angeles in 2106 becomes Chlorofilia, a "self-sustaining, self-protecting natural ecology, used converted highways as aqueducts and dispersed nutrients into an adaptable organism that continuously adjusted itself to changes in demographics and housing requirements.»

GREEN ROOF TILES by Toyota Roof Garden

The TM9 self-watering turf tiles measure twenty inches square, and connect directly to irrigation systems, making them entirely self-watering. And at a slim 2 inches thick, the tiles lightweight and do not require any additional structural upgrading to your existing roof.At only $43 per tile, the TM9 system provides a modular, easy-to-install, cost-effective option for green-minded homeowners. In terms of maintenance, the tiles need only be cut once a year, thanks to a special breed of Korean velvet grass. And of course, like all green roofs, you’ll rest easy knowing that your easy installation is providing a natural cooling effect, thermal insulation, and a little extra flora in your home environment.

‘Shape-changing envelopes offer architects the ability to produce buildings that condition themselves in very simple, natural and sustainable ways…They enable buildings to be conceived of as systems that change shape to improve the way people live.’

The house can then be installed above a variety of ground conditions, from the middle of a meadow to an urban core.

Personally... I'd put it in a lake.
