Terms and ConditionsPayment of FeesPayment of Fees is in full by the first day of term. Fee accounts areprepared at the end of each term for payment by the start of thefollowing term by bank transfer or by cheque direct to the School.

Pre-paid (Composition) Fees SchemeThe School operates a Pre-paid (Composition) Fees Scheme, bywhich parents can pay a lump sum in advance for the School fees(minimum two years) thereby receiving a discount. A quote can be obtained from the Finance Bursar ([email protected]).

Increase of FeesThe School will give parents one term’s notice of fee increases;however, under some circumstances it may be necessary to reviewfees at other times. Should a parent or guardian wish to withdraw a pupil as a result of such an increase, a term’s notice must still be given.

Overdue FeesA surcharge will be made on accounts not received by the first day of each term. The current rate of surcharge is Bank Base Rateplus 4%.

We will also recover any administrative fees associated with any debt and pass on the costs of any debt recovery agents that we may instruct.

Registration Fee£150 is payable with the application, and is non-refundable.

Acceptance DepositFor UK-based parents, a deposit of half a term’s fee is paid toaccept the offer at Roedean.

For parents living or working outside the UK, a deposit of oneterm’s fee is paid to accept the offer at Roedean.

All deposits are refunded (without interest) after the pupil has left the School and after all fees and ‘extras’ have been settled. If the pupil does not take up the accepted place, the deposit is non-refundable.

Charges for Extra Subjects/ActivitiesWritten permission of the parent or guardian is required before a pupil can be accepted for tuition in an extra subject/activity.

Since payment has to be made to the teachers concerned,subjects/activities may only be terminated at the end of the term, for which half of one term’s notice in writing is required. If asubject/activity is discontinued during a term, the whole of thatterm’s charge will be payable.

Full details of subjects/activities offered are published separately.

Where pupils require private academic coaching, this is a matterfor separate written contract between the parents and the School.

Notice of WithdrawalOnce a place in the School has been accepted, at least one fullterm’s notice of withdrawal of a pupil must be given to theHeadmistress in writing, irrespective of whether the pupil hasjoined the School or not. If the required notice is not given, fees for the next term will be charged.

Admissions processAdmissions process 2011The admissions process may seem long and daunting, but we havea great Admissions Team who will be happy to support you andyour daughter all the way through.

1. Read the prospectus and www.roedean.co.uk to find all the factsyou need to decide whether Roedean is the right place for yourdaughter.

2. If so, complete the registration form opposite and send with thesupporting documents and registration fee.

3. Come and see the school if you haven’t done so already. Chooseeither an Open Day or an individual visit at a time to suit you.

Generally speaking we recommend making an individual visitduring term time as it is the best time to see the school in action, meet key members of staff and, most importantly, see our pupils.

Your daughter may also like to come to a Taster Day to meet someof her prospective classmates. It can help for pupils to meet eachother before the term begins and many girls swap addresses andstay in touch throughout the holidays.

4. Obviously it’s important to make sure that our curriculum willsuit your daughter. For the entrance exam, applicants can chooseeither Roedean’s own entry papers (which are offered on a rollingschedule), or the Common Entrance.

Roedean’s three papers are English, Maths or Liberal Arts and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Each academic paper lasts an hour.

5. We also ask applicants to come for an interview with theHeadmistress, which can take place either on the same day astesting, or another day if more convenient.

6. Congratulations! Once you have been offered a place atRoedean, you have four weeks to accept it by paying a deposit(half a term’s fee, or a whole term if you are living outside the UK). We can then send joining instructions and a CAS number if yourdaughter needs a student visa.
