THE FUNGI KINGDOM
![Page 2: Fungi kingdom CLIL (Natural sciences) 1º ESO](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081416/557d2194d8b42a5a448b4703/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
Characteristics:
• Eukaryotic cells• Unicellular or multicellular• Multicellular ones does not form tissues• Some are composed by a special type of cell called
hyphae.• Groups of hyphae form the mycelium

Hyphae Mycelium
Hyphae are the tubular cells with cellular wall.
Mycelium are formed by groups of hyphae packed together.

Groups
Mushrooms are formed by mycelium and live on decomposing remains of other living things.

Groups
Yeast are unicellular. They are not formed by hyphae or mycelium.

Nutrition• They all are heterotrophs• They have three different ways of nutrition:
saprophytes parasites symbionts

Reproduction• They reproduce by spores• Some perform asexual reproduction others sexual
reproduction.
