WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST

Laura Dupler (Dorothy) has been acting & singing on stage since she caught the “acting bug” in high school. She came to Greeneville in 2011 & quickly became a part of our areas theatre community. She has performed in several productions with Theatre-at-Tusculum and was a member of the GTG task force. She has been props master for it’s first two productions. Happy to be on stage in the role of Dorothy, she is looking forward to performing and serving on the crew for future GTG productions.

David Brannock (Beecham) is a writer, speaker and church lay speaker. This is his third production, but the first with the GTG.He previously played Fred in “A Christmas Carol” at Theatre at Tus-culum and Mr. Dobbins in “River Song: The Adventures of Tom Saw-yer” at NPAC. David loves drama, but no production fulfills him more than his ongoing roles as a husband, father and follower of Jesus.

Cathleen Charleson (Ozella) is happy to be continuing with Greeneville Theatre Guild playing the woman everyone loves to loathe; enjoy. Other roles here in Greeneville include nicer people such as Julia in “Lend Me a Tenor” and Nellie in “South Pacific.” Favorite roles include Emily Dickinson in NYC’s Theatre 22 pro-duction of “Belle of Amherst” and Millie Montag in NYC’s WestBeth premiere of “Fahrenheit 451: the Musical.” Love and kisses to Mom.

Angela Bride (Harlene) Angela’s acting career as an adult began when she appeared as Lily St. Regis in “Annie” for the Little Theater of Greeneville. Since then she has appeared in several productions at Theatre - at -Tusculum and Little Theater. Some of her favorite roles have been Gertrude in “Seussical the Musical,” Yente in “Fiddler on the Roof,” Babette in “Beauty and the Beast,” Pitti-Sing in “Mikado” and Twink in “Dearly Beloved.” This is Angela’s first show with Greenville Theatre Guild.

David “Adam” Dupler (Dewey Jr.) is a graduate of North Greene High School and a freshman at Walters State Community College studying Computer Networking. He has worked on the build and props crew for past GTG productions. He played a Nazi in the Theatre-at-Tusculum production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” and filled in for walk on roles in other productions as needed. He is happy to be a part of the GTG, loves the part of Dewey and is looking forward to upcoming GTG productions.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST WHO’S WHO IN THE CASTDavid Hutton (Attie) is a Navy Veteran, ETSU graduate and employee at our VA Hospital. You may recognize him as a member of Blue Plate Special Improv Group or from roles as Dale Lee in “Like Kissing Moonlight” or Tito in “Lend Me A Tenor.” He would like to express his appreciation to his girlfriend, Cara, and his son, Riley, for their help, support & patience. He dedicates his performance to them!Michael Fillers (Benny Charles) Besides singing and acting in many church choruses and plays, Michael has recently been seen on the stage at Tusculum College in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, “A Christmas Carol” and “12 Angry Men.” He also performed on the NPAC stage in “River Song: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.” His major aim is to act and sing in any musical production.Pam Gosnell (Fairy June) Is new to the stage so she cannot blame typecasting for being named to her first role. Pam auditioned to give her and her little mama, Shelby, something to do together. Shelby watches each practice from the warmth of an afghan while Pam is learning from the fantastic ensemble of talent and under the direction of decades of experience.Paige Mengel (Martha Ann) is a CPA who does theatre to remain sane. She has acted &/or worked backstage in many commu-nity theatre productions for 20 years & has branched into set design in the last 3 years in Greeneville and Johnson City. Her favorite roles include Berry in “Like Kissing Moonlight,” Juror 8 in “12 Angry Men” & Edith Frank in “The Diary of Anne Frank.” She is the Business Coordinator for the GTG and was a driving force in its creation.Sandy Nienaber (Sammy Jo) recently, was fortunate to play the Baroness in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at Theatre-at-Tusculum. It is one of her favorite roles alongside the Wicked Witch in the “Wizard of Oz,” Maizie in “Seussical,” “Honey Raye in “Dearly Beloved,” Olive in “Odd Couple” (female version) and all of the “A My Name is Alice” productions. Sandy is the GM for Catalyst Coffee Co., a proud mother and wife and the Artistic Coordinator for the GTG.

Bill Regan (Uncle Dub) is a veteran community theatre actor and director. Since retiring to Greeneville from Wisconsin in 2000, he has directed a number of plays at the Little Theatre of Greeneville and the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. He directed the inaugural Greeneville Theatre Guild production, “Father of the Bride.” He loves Greeneville, community theatre and southern weather!

The Capitol Theatre is about community. Volunteers from the community fill the seats on the board of directors and help with events. The venue is used for community events, school programs, and local performances. As a non-profit, the theatre is in a unique position to be a resource to Greeneville and the surrounding areas.

The Capitol Theatre was constructed in the early 1930’s and has served various roles throughout its existence. Ownership changes and years of neglect necessitated restoration and upgrades. Private donors have begun the process, but much more is needed to restore the Capitol to its former iconic status.

The Capitol Theatre currently features a state-of-the-art audio system via support from NPAC and TEVET. In an effort to be energy conscious, the house lighting has been converted to smart LED low voltage fixtures. Comprehensive stage lighting and video projection systems are in the planning stages.

As a non-profit venue, the Capitol Theatre relies on community volunteers and investments from private donors. Thank you to the residents and companies that have funded the upgrades to date. If you would like to invest in the restoration of the Capitol, please contact the main office at 423.638.1300 or visit our website: www.thecapitoltheatreofgreeneville.com
