5:30 p.m. Who is this for? A team (the Veldmans and Daniel and Rachel Shinkle) from our church is going to General Conference in Orlando, FL in July. Daniel is a General Conference delegate, so he will be attending to the business of the Conference. The other four will provide hospitality to international guests from Asia in the form of meals, medical care, and fellowship. Pastor Russ will also be speaking at a seminar on the Classic Catechism. What will the money be used for? To cover the cost of groceries for the meals for international guests and to help cover the Veldmans' Conference costs. The Bishops have requested that Free Methodist churches send their pastors to General Conference. How much needs to be raised? $700 food supplies $295 registration fees $784 lodging at Conference $200 lodging to and from Conference $200 fuel $2179 Total What will we eat on the 14th? Hot dogs on the grill, carry-in salads, and desserts Besides eating, what we will do? We will hear more about General Conference, what our church's team anticipates doing, play some games, pray, and give. What is "General Conference?" The Free Methodist Church-USA meets every four years to attend to many things such as vision and mission focus, polity and doctrinal issues, and to elect bishops for the next four years. This year's General Conference is focused on "empowering local Free Methodist churches to engage the world."
