20thJanuary2016Ref:ApplicationforsmallgrantDearSirorMadam,Wearewritingtoapplyforasmallgrantfora‘BergChampion’trampolineforthe25childrenlivingatourorphanageintheGambia.Les Amis deGambie is a not-for-profit organisation and has been operating an orphanage in theGambiasince 2009 to provide disadvantaged children with an opportunity to grow up within a loving familyenvironmentandtodevelopintobalancedadultswithinasafeandnurturingculture.Thereare currently 25 children living in theorphanageand thenumber is continuing togrowaswehavecapacityfor30-40children;asyoucanimagine,ourbuildingsarewelloccupied!Acoupleofmonthsagowereceivedasmall,secondhandtrampolineandafterwehaddiscoveredthatallthe children love to play with it, we decided to apply for a grant in order to buy a ‘Berg Champion’trampolinewithasafetynet.Thetotalcostofanew‘BergChampion430’trampolineincludingasafetynetis996.50Euros.Normallythepricewouldbe1049.00Eurosbutwewillreceiveadiscountof5%fromthesupplier.Thetrampolinewillbeboughtat“JacobsSpeelplezier”inGeffenintheNetherlandsandwillbetransportedtotheGambiabycontainer,whichwilltakeabouttwomonths.Thereasonsthatwewouldliketobuyatrampolineat“JacobsSpeelplezier”arethattheirshopisveryneartothecontainertransportcompanyinHollandandalsobecausewehavealreadyboughtsomegoodsatthisshopandwearereallysatisfiedwiththeirservice.Theheightof this trampoline frombase tomat is95 centimetresand theheightof the safetynet is 1.80meters.Theprotectivepaddingwidthis38centimetresandtheprotectivepaddingdepthis2centimetres.Thetrampolinecanmanageamaximumweightof120kilos.Theguaranteeonthetrampolineis2years.Bouncingonatrampolinewillhelptodevelopco-ordination,staminaandstrength:indeed,achildwithpoorco-ordinationbenefitsdramatically,buteverychildwillgainco-ordinationthatcarriesovertoeveryphysical
