What were the most useful part(s) of the conference? Please give reasons:
Bishop Gregory’s address and Key note speaker, Bishop Stephen x6o Because they were interesting and uplifting.o Both made you think.
Bishop Stephen’s talk x30o Put the emphasis on mission and showed that it is something
we can do.o Very inspiring.o And the conference slogan – Do the little things.o Made evangelism seem a normal part of life – not so scary.
Arts in worship workshop. Workshops x6
o Opportunity to chat to others about different subjects. Worship x2 All great x15 Meeting colleagues and friends Inspiration An opportunity to meet up with people I haven’t seen for some
time. The market place – a lot of useful information and a book stall!
Opportunity to network at stalls, information workshop etc.

What were the least useful part(s) of the conference? Please give reasons:
None x 4 Group session/workshop x 10
o The content was disappointing and didn’t link in with the morning session.
o I didn’t learn much new.o Maybe not enough time because all diocesan training is
excellent.o Not enough time to be much use.
Too long – a lot to give up whole Saturday. Amount of walking: three of our reps could not come because of the facility.
Sadly, the finance, know it’s important but usually leave this to church treasurers.
I didn’t find the worship helpful. I wonder if the worship can come earlier in the conference. Everyone is very tired by the end.
Taking processes for granted.

How do you rate the venue? Comments:
Ok for me, but distances between things a little difficult for some. Plenty of space, lots of rooms for group work, good sound system in
main conference hall. Seats extremely uncomfortable and lighting gave me headache. Certainly better than Llangollen Pavilion A long walk for someone with mobility problems x3 Better organised than before.

Rather a rabbit warren, a bit claustrophobic. Main hall was good. Due to a tight parking/lots of cars (with 1 person in them) car
sharing should be encouraged. Much better sign posting this year. Signage didn’t seem that successful – people wandering around
looking for toilets and groups rooms & not understanding the map. Good location. Poor lighting in hall. St Joseph’s is pleasant enough, but sports hall is not ideal and the
layout is confusing. Efficient parking, rooms well labelled. Parking could be better. Arrangement of seats – more width, less depth, better than last
year. Felt more open and less claustrophobic.

Inspiring x6 Refreshingly down to earth and inspiring. Inspiring and helpful. A real highlight – lots to take in, and to reflect on afterwards. Hand-
outs of the slides would have helped thought. Best one since John Timpson. He was wonderfully uplifting whilst being down to earth. What a
sense of humour! Authentic enthusiasm. A very interesting and informative speaker. Engaging, informative, challenging, relevant. The best keynote
speaker I can recall. Very entertaining. A most engaging address. As is usually the case, the keynote speaker was the highlight of the
day – very pleased that it’s been re-introduced after last year. Practical and informative – Thoroughly enjoyable. Really good speaker. Excellent – More please. The most inspirational speaker I’ve heard for many years. Should
be many more like him in ministry. 5 stars. I finally understand and appreciate what evangelism means.
Transformative. Brilliant. Many thanks to him for captivating, inspirational and helpful talk.
Both inspiring and practical. Very amusing and encouraging talk. A lot to think about and work on with my churches. Provided both encouragement and biblical teaching but grounded in
the real world with warmth and humour. Great speaker – he made his points with enthusiasm and humour.
Inspirational. I could have listened to him for hours. Some good and thought-provoking points but perhaps about
1/2hour too long. Inspiring and Practical. It was great to be encouraged as well as challenged.

Arts and Worship
Excellent GoodAverage Poor
Arts and Worship Comments No very central structure – a bit fragmented. This is area of worship where I have little experience. As usual for
new ideas – it showed new ways for me to use or adapt. Thank you. Content excellent, but wonder if the transition from stations could
have been organised better. Not what I expected. I would have liked a few detailed topic
introductions. A puerile opening sketch about the Walls of Jericho. Moving from table to table worked well for me and I had and
insightful and helpful conversation about the use of poetry in worship.
Would have welcomed discussion as well as “information points”.

Collective Worship

Collective Worship comments:
It was good. The why and what but not the how. Given most of us there were practitioners, good examples of what is reflection…. What does it look like.
I couldn’t hear the speaker and I couldn’t see his slides they were too small.
Would have welcomed more participation. Good content. Content good, I could not read the screen at all well. More discussion would have been helpful. It just wasn’t something I found particularly interesting.
Fresh Expressions
Excellent GoodAverage Poor
Fresh Expressions comments:
I didn’t feel that it had any bearing in enabling our parish to try anything new.
Perhaps it needed more time, but I felt it was a poor way to spend an hour when we still had business and worship to come.

Growth & Evangelism comments: There didn’t seem to be enough time to fully explore. Excellent session Perhaps needed more space for discussion. Having attended LyCiG in March there was very little here that I had
not heard before.

I was surprised to be in that group as I didn’t recall booking it. I really enjoyed the Youth Pilgrimage exploration of why they went
on pilgrimage and what it meant to them.

Was there anything you would have liked to spend more time on? Balance about right. X3 Workshops x3 I loved the idea of individual stories. Fellowship Shopping Listening to Bishop Stephen Cottrell x2 More about providing a welcome and how to be a welcoming
church. It was a very well planned day. Accountability Some of the other workshop sessions looked interesting.
6) Was there anything you would have liked to spend less time on?
Group Session.x2 Balance about right x3 Business section x2 The group session in the form it took. The morning arrival. Begin at 10 BUT finish at 3.30!! Don’t extend
it. Had the workshop been more what I was hoping for than 1hr was
the right time. Should worship be placed somewhere else? At the beginning and
middle rather than when people are leaving. Equality, but appreciate to everyone knows as much as I do about
the subject. Lunch could be reduced to 45 mins.

How do you rate the Stalls and Exhibits?
Excellent Good Average Poor
Comments Plenty of variety Brilliant. I didn’t have time to go around them all. Pity you couldn’t get too close to the stalls. A tad crowded. It was good to see more stalls from the evangelical tradition than in
previous years. Great to have more space for Manna bookstall. The space allocated for lots of stall isn’t very big – with lots of
people circulating. Some advertised stalls weren’t there (or maybe I missed them).
Wide variety of Christian themed goods and services. Not enough time to see all. Particularly impressed by the bookstall. Very quick – especially helpful for those of us on stalls. Lots to see and buy. Wide variety and lots to see. Wide range and good balance this year. CARE’s presence
particularly appreciated. A good range of both stall and exhibits. Find the noise level difficult to cope with but don’t see how this can
be changed.

How do you rate reception and reg-istration process?
Excellent Good Average Poor
Comments Thank you all welcomers and car park attendants. Very efficient, friendly and accommodating x8 We might have been shown what to do with our ballot forms etc. I arrived late-ish which was probably an advantage as I was the only
one registering and recognised anyway. Thank you – very efficient and welcoming. Smooth and straightforward. Good to be able to register online.
How do you rate the housekeeping and catering arrangements?
Excellent Good Average Poor
Comments Much appreciated contributions for “unseen” workers, Diocesan
office staff and Youth Forum Volunteers – brilliant. The people serving the drinks were very helpful and cheerful. Plastic bottles? Thank you for my lunch pack. Very, very good special diet food. Very pleasant ladies serving tea and coffee and lunch was served
quickly and tasted delicious. Thank you.

The lunch was fresh and enjoyable x3 Thank you to all who made it run so smoothly. Helpers very welcoming and pleasant.
Do you have any other comments that you wish to make? Thank you for all the hard work that has done into making this
conference so successful. Just wonder if there are enough car parking spaces! I think there
should be worship at the beginning as well as the end of the conference.
I really enjoyed the experience of being a family of Christians – Thank you.
To consider half day conference. The worship went on a bit too long. The session would have been
better to finish after John Lomas very moving reflection. We had to leave early as our lay rep needed to get home. Please
could we have the worship earlier in the proceedings as many people were in the same position. Worship should be our priority.
The way the conference hall was set out was better and also it was not too hot and stuffy. The worship was extremely moving. Good to finish the conference like that.
Really enjoyed the opening address. I enjoyed the conference very much. The business side of things
was a bit boring, saying that I didn’t have to stay for it. It was good having the speaker in the morning. It was all very well organised.
The workshop idea is very good – thank you! Good conference. Thanks very much x8 I was surprised that amendments to the constitution were not voted
on individually. I enjoyed every part of the day. Thank you everyone. Diocesan Offering, we were not told how much the donation was. Thank you for an inspiring and helpful conference. Huge thank you as usual for the amazing Diocesan Staff, who just
made it happen and with a smile on their faces. No Welsh in the worship x2 I was particularly impressed how well the finance and business
reports were presented this year. V efficiently done. Overall I found the day enjoyable and well worth coming to. It gave
me food for thought. The service at the end was beautiful. Organisation was very efficient indeed. Managing the business part of the meeting was well done. The conference was really good – the business was kept to a short
succinct time. The worship was good, simple.
