Management, was motivated to create a theoretical

foundation for a managerial educational program

based on his experience as a successful managing

director of a mining company. he observed that the

increasing complexity of organisations would requiremore professional management.

Fayol's legacy is his generic Principles of

Management. Of Fayol's six generic activities forindustrial undertakings (technical, commercial,

financial, security, accounting, managerial), the most

important were The Five Functions of Management

that focused on the key relationships between

    PLANNING

According to KOONTZ, Planning is decidingin advance - what to do, when to do & how to

do. It bridges the gap from where we are &

    where we want to be.

Planning is necessary to ensure properutilization of human & non-human resources.

It is all pervasive, it is an intellectual activity

and it also helps in avoiding confusion,

uncertainties, risks, wastages etc. PRESENTATION BY:ZOHRA RUBAB
