Course Description

This TUV Functional Safety training course for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) focuses on the functional safety aspects for the process, oil & gas, and chemical industries accordingto IEC 61508 / 61511.

The main objective of the course is to give engineers involved in safety instrumented systems the opportunity to learn about functional safety, current applicable safetystandards (IEC 61508 / 61511) and their requirements. A second objective is to give anybody attending the course the opportunity to certify their functional safety knowledge through an exam.

anybody

involved

Safety

Instrumented

System

lifecycle

activities

shall

be

competent

to

carry

out

the

activities

for

which

they

About the ExamThe exam is created and certified by TUV. It consists of 60 multiple choice questions and

25 open questions. Each question is worth 1 point. In total you can score 85 points. Thepassing grade is 75% which is 64 points.
