Functional Movement Screening

• What is it? Functional Movement Screening is the combined use of knowledge

gained in a short sport specific medical along with the performance of simple functional movements to highlight an individuals weaknesses or limitations enabling the therapist to create a training regime to correct these issues.

• Benefits Quick and easy method of highlighting issues and correction Can be re-assessed mid season to monitor progress Will reduce the quantity of injuries suffered across a season Every assessment and training regime is engineered for the

specific individual

How it works• We will require each player for 3 X 30minute sessions with a

minimum days rest between each session.• First Session

– Sit down sport specific medical– Includes medical & injury history– Questionnaire to ascertain players position/strengths/weaknesses/ambitions– Quick observation for any obvious muscle imbalance/deformities

• Second Session• Having studied the information from the previous session we will have a pre-

determined set of exercises and movements of which they will perform during this session

• Every movement is recorded from 3 different angles in order to maximise efficiency when reviewing footage.

• Third Session• Having analysed the footage from the previous session we will have annotated

the footage and constructed an easy and efficient training regime which we will explain and demonstrate during the session as well as explaining to the individual the footage and potential weaknesses it shows.

How much will it cost?

• On an individual basis in an external clinic we would look to charge between £30-£40 per total 90 minute screening

• For the club we would charge £20 per person up to 22 players (2 teams).

• Over 22 players we would charge £17.50 per person

• Over 44 players we would charge £15 per person.• Some companies charge up to £90 per 90minute screening per

person!
