How to Use Your Fullfield E1 RiflescopeEyepiece FocusingThe eyepiece can be focused so that the reticleappears sharp and black. Follow this procedure toquickly adjust the focus:

1. Point the scope at the sky or a plain wall andtake a quick glance through the scope. If thereticle appears sharp and black, no furtheradjustment is necessary.

2. If the reticle does not appear sharp and black, take quick glances through the scope whilerotating the focus ring until the reticle patternis sharp and black.

NOTE: Do not look through the eyepiece as youturn the focus ring. Your eyes will adjust to theout-of-focus condition.

Parallax/Focus Adjustment – Applies to 4.5-14x and 6.5-20x models –Parallax is the apparentmovement of the reticle inrelation to the target whenthe eye is not directly in linebehind the center of thescope. Images from differentdistances focus in front of orbehind the scope’s reticle. Parallax is morenoticeable with higher magnification scopes.

To use the parallax/focus adjustment, rotate theknob on the left side of the adjustment turretuntil the numeral corresponding to the knowntarget distance lines up with the reference mark.If the distance is unknown, rotate the adjustmentknob until the target image is sharply focused.

When the scope is set parallax-free for thedistance you are viewing, you should be able tomove your eye side-to-side or up and downwithout seeing the reticle move appreciably inrelation to the target.

Windage/Elevation Adjustment

The low profile adjustment knobs on Fullfield E1riflescopes feature a finger adjustment for bothwindage and elevation. Once you have successfullyzeroed your scope, you can reset the zero onyour dials with these simple steps:

1. With turret caps removed, grip or push downon knob top firmly to keep knob from turning.

2. Put pen or other smallobject into the smallhole located on thedial, 180º from “0”.

3. Keeping firm grip orpressure on the knob, use the pen to turnthe dial back to zero, lining up the numberzero with the whiteindicator dot. Only thenumbered dial should move – do not allow theentire knob to move or else you will alter yourwindage and elevation zero settings.

NOTE: You do not have to reset the zero on yourdials for your scope to function properly. Doingso can give you peace of mind that your zero isset, plus you can easily confirm if it has moved atany time, but this step is optional.

Illuminated Reticle Adjustment– Select models only –Illumination makes iteasier to see the reticlein low light conditions. The intensity of theillumination is controlledby a rotary illuminationswitch located on the left side of the adjustmentturret. The switch has 11 intensity levels and an“Off” position in between each level. The reticleis powered by a 3-volt lithium cell battery #CR2032.

To install a new battery, simply unscrew thebattery cap on the rotary switch and install thenew battery flat side (+) up. It is advisable toremove the battery for long-term storage (overa month).

Mounting the ScopeWe recommend using high-quality rings andbases, like Burris Zee Rings or Signature Ringsand Trumount Universal or XTB bases. Qualitycomponents ensure that your scope will remainsafely and securely mounted, and will providethe maximum accuracy. Use care when mountingyour scope as damage can be caused byimproper mounting.

Care & MaintenanceFullfield E1 riflescopes are fully waterproof andfogproof. In the event that the lenses aresubjected to dust, dirt or mud, follow thesesteps to clean and protect the lens surface.Failure to remove grit before final cleaning issure to damage lens coatings. Coarse dirt/debrismust be removed from the lens surface. Themost convenient way to clean a lens surface isto use a Lens Pen. Position the scope so particleswill fall away from the lens, and then use theLens Pen or soft brush to gently whisk away thedebris while blowing on the lens to dislodgethe particles. For heavy dirt, like dried mud, usea spray of clean water or lens cleaning fluid toremove the dirt.

Your Fullfield E1 riflescope will provide reliableperformance given reasonable care and treatment. All moving assemblies are permanently lubricated.Only occasional cleaning of the outside of thescope and the exterior lenses is required. Neverdisassemble your scope. Disassembly by anyoneother than our factory will void the warranty. If you have any other problems with yourriflescope, contact Burris Customer Service.

Fullfield E1 Riflescope Reticles

Ballistic Plex E1™The Ballistic Plex E1 reticle helps you overcometwo of the biggest challenges when shootinglong-distance: determining holdover at distanceand hold-off for wind drift. This technology isbased on the popular Burris Ballistic Plex™ reticlethat redefined trajectory compensation.

Trajectory CompensationTo better determine holdover and compensatefor bullet drop, the patented Burris designincorporates hash marks on the lower verticalcrosshair that are calibrated to provide dead-onaiming from 100 yards to 500 yards for many ofthe most common hunting cartridges.

For calculating wind drift, the E1 reticle has aseries of small cascading dots, placed to the leftand right of the reticle. These dots represent theeffect of a 10 mph crosswind for most big gamehunting cartridges. For a 5 mph crosswind, simply hold into the wind half the distance to thedot. If the crosswind is 20 mph, simply hold intothe wind twice the distance from the center postto the dot. If you know the distance to yourtarget and the speed of the wind, you can quicklydetermine the correct aiming point to compensatefor both bullet drop and wind drift.

Burris provides ballistic reference labels for theBallistic Plex E1 reticle on our websitewww.burrisoptics.com. You can print out theselabels and attach them to your rifle for quickreference. With access to a ballistics program, youcan easily develop your own charts for customhandloads.

By shooting at known distances (i.e. 100, 200, 300,400, 500 and 600 yds.), you can determine thebullet drop that corresponds to each ballistic linefor your cartridge.

Ballistic Plex E1 MV Reticle(Found only in the 6.5-20x50mm model)*Subtentions shown for High Power

Magnification

The E1 MV reticle incorporates the same trajectorycompensating technology and cascading dots forcompensating for wind drift as the Fullfield E1reticle. Designed for varmint shooting, at 20xmagnification it is calibrated for the .22-250cartridge, but also works well with other flatshooting cartridges. It offers trajectory compensationout to 700 yards and incorporates mil measurementtools to aid in calculating distance and target size.
