There’s no better way to spend a hot as hell af-ternoon or evening then in a nice, air conditioned movie theater. Especially when it’s cheap and there’s booze. The Brew & View is the alter ego of The Vic, showing movies on the days and eve-nings the venue doesn’t have a concert. The Brew & View is reminiscent of the old dollar theaters that only showed second-run movies. Whereas you imagine that admission is more than a buck, it’s still really cheap. For $5 you catch a double feature of the three movies the theater is showing.

Nothing screams hangover like waking up, looking around, and wondering where the hell you are. You realize you are in a hotel room. Ah yes, it’s all com-ing back to you now. Four tequila shots and driving was no longer an option. A hotel room is always a good idea if you’ve had too much to drink. You look around some more, squinting and playing a real life game of Where’s Waldo. But you aren’t looking for Waldo, you are looking for your pants. Wait, did I just hear the toilet flush? Who the heck is in the bathroom??

While out one night in Chicago, ordering a Three Floyds Gumballhead, I had the thought to do a se-ries of stories on places in Chicago that you may not think of as having good craft beer, or even known existed. Now these are not “beer bars” by any stretch, but to me one thing the craft beer community is about is people, so I want to spot-light some local places that if you’re adventurous enough to go somewhere new you could go and be assured you wouldn’t only find the yellow fizz the mass market calls beer. What better place to start off the series than my typical Saturday night hang-out: Neo.

People often complain that Chicago goes to bed too early; that there’s nothing to do after 10 p.m. This is, of course, not true, but in certain neigh-borhoods we understand the frustration. It can be particularly difficult to get great food late at night. We asked our Food and Drink Staff to give their picks for great dining after dark. Minna An: Head down to Chinatown. Melissa Wiley: Hop on a train. John DiGilio: Boystown after dark. Amy Cavana-ugh: Late-night cheesesteaks. Chuck Sudo: Pretend You’re At A Diner On Randolph Street.

Air is invisible. Water is tasteless. In a world of iPhones, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and ABC’s Bach-elor Pad – how does this seemingly dull combina-tion put on a show worth seeing? Easy. Jets! The Chicago Air and Water Show is one of the oldest and most popular shows of its kind. On August 18th and 19th, millions of spectators will flock to Chicago’s shoreline to witness tumbling aerobatic teams, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and Red Bull’s famed wingsuit flyers.

United Colors of Benetton has been a classic standby for chic wardrobe staples for years, but now they’re giving their stores a facelift — and they’re starting with Chicago. You may have no-ticed the flagship on Michigan Avenue has been out of commission for some time, but it’s now poised for the grand unveiling next weekend. And, we’ve got an inside peek at renderings of the brand-new boutique. The interiors, designed by Italian star ar-chitect Piero Lissoni, will feature all-knit furniture (think couches and ottomans decked out like Fair Isle sweaters), and awesome accents like rolling suitcases filled with fall fashions.
