Only contractors approved by the mayor of Fujisawa City are authorized to carry out collection and transportation of general waste within Fujisawa City. In addition, excluding some temporary cases such as when moving, etc., periodic collection from standard households is not approved tor even approved contractors.Carelessly commissioning collection and disposal of waste to waste collection contractors can lead to fee problems

Waste including tea leaves, from food eaten by employees, tissues andother scrap paper are exceptions and disposed of as general waste.●There are the following 3 disposal methods for general waste produced as a result of business activities.① Request collection from a city approved general waste collection and transportation contractor.② Have an employee of the business take the waste directly to a city processing facility. ( Excluding recyclables and industrial waste) A processing fee of 270 yen / 10 kg is required.③ A city collects it after applying to the city as “Businesses which produce small quantities of waste”. (The detailes are as follows)

About Businesses which produce small quantities of waste1. Dispose of only 40 liters or less of trash at a time.2. Dispose of burnable garbage, non-burnable garbage, plastic containers / packaging and plastic goods.

Businesses which satisfy the above collection request conditions and which wish to havecollection carried out should submit a “Business General Waste Collection, Transport and Processing Application” to the Kankyo-Jigyo-Center (Environmental Management Center), Nanbu-Shushu-Jimusho (Southern Collection Office) and Kankyo-Soumu-Ka (Environmental General Affairs Section).

Please put out systematically or sort it by item and contact each processing facility (see page 2) and bring it in.●Reduction and exemption of a waste treatment handling charge is received by the thing to which the person who suffered damage by fire and an accident submits 「Victim's Certificates」 (South and North Fire Department Management Division in case of fire, issued by Crisis Management Division in case of disaster) and 「picture of the damage」. Illegal dumping is a crime! It accordance with the Waste Disposal and Public Cleansing Act, illegal dumping is subject to 「imprisonment of up to 5 years or fines of up to 10 million yen」 with fines up to 300 million yen for corporations.

Illegal Dumping on Roads and Other Public Space

Illegal dumping is a crime which is punishable according to the Wates Disposal and Public Cleansing Act. Please report the location, dumped items, quantity and other details of any illegal dumping via the Toll Free Number for Reporting Illegal Dumping (Toll free : Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year). The police will be notified, investigations carried out and strictpunishments applied for any illegal dumping.

Illegal Dumping on Private PropertyLand and building owners and managers must endeavor to keep said land and buildings clean and sanitary, and if any waste is a disposed of, in principle it must be disposed of at the responsibility of the owners and managers. Owners and managers should install fences or other barriers and ensure clear visibility from outside the property in order to prevent illegal dumping. Signboards and camera equipment for preventing illegal dumping, etc. can be lent free of charge to land owners and managers to improve illegal dumping countermeasures. About Volunteer Cleaning

When regional organizations, resident's associations, etc., carry out cleaning of public places (roads, planted areas, etc.) and require collection of waste, they should submit a volunteer cleaning plan and request collection. (Applications should be made approximately 2 weeks before the date of collection.) Application forms are available at the Kankyo-Jigyou-Center, Nanbu-Shushu-Jimusho, Kankyo-Soumu-Ka, civic centers and community centers. Applications can also be downloaded fromthe City of Fujisawa website.

Hitokoe Fureai CllectionIt is difficult to take garbage (exc. Oversized Garbage, Special Oversized Garbage), resources to an accumulation place and, among the household where the cooperation such as volunteers is not provided. So, this is a system to collect garbage and resources, after the city staff calling out to you from the door to check safety.
