Located on the south-eastern tip of Sicily, a few kilometers away from the seaside village of Marzamemi and from Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, you will find one of Planeta’s five boutique wineries: the Buonivini Cellar. This vineyard is characterized by its friendly atmosphere, where small rural houses, the “Case Sparse”, (Scattered Houses) dot the vineyards with their amaranth red color. Case Sparse have been renovated according to the local tradition, and they are furnished with the original creations by Costanza Algranti that are made entirely from recycled materials. Case Sparse is the ideal place to stay for those who love nature and sobriety, for those who want to dedicate some time to reading and to themselves, possibly strolling through the 60 hectares of vineyards that surround Case Sparse. The grape varieties grown at Buonivini (the old name of the land where our cellar is located) are Nero d'Avola and Moscato Bianco, which are used to make the Santa Cecilia D.O.C. Noto and Passito di Noto D.O.C. wines respectively. They are produced on site in the “Invisible Cellar”, unique in its kind in Sicily, since it is entirely built underground in order to preserve the soft lines of the landscape.
