The Fiber To The Antenna (FTTA/PTTA) architecture is key to the development of next generation wireless networks and satisfies the industry’s need for increased capacity, advanced service offerings and energy efficiency. This innovative architecture moves the active transmission equipment closer to the base station antennas, connecting them through fiber optic and DC power cables to the Base Band Units (BBU) which are typically

located close to the DC power at the site.

Raycap offers a full complement of integrated Remote Radio Head (RRH) site solutions to enable and protect FTTA/PTTA architectures. protective devices IEC 61643-11, ANSI UL 1449 3rd Edition and IEEE C62.41. Strikesorb modules endure UL 3-cycle testing in order to ensure their safe operation when exposed to high levels of short circuit current.

The Strikesorb 30-V1-HV modules feature enhanced performance characteristics and are especially suitable for DC telecommunications applications typically operating at -48 VDC. Offering maintenance-free operation, they will mitigate the risk of damage due to lightning and provide high levels of availability and reliability to the installation.
