Description of Appropriate Use:

This slide presentation is all about the types of rocks and its formation. I used graphics and I insert some animation on it. I also used background music for the picture slides. It helps to be attractive the slide presentation. I also used stylish font to give emphasis of a term. The hyperlink is also used for the activity presentation. The voice narration is applied. It should use right timing to suit the words in the uttered words.

Your Analysis After working on your slide presentation, answer the following questions: 1. What are good features of a slide presentation?

After working on my slide presentation, the good features of a slide presentation are graphics which serve as the shown explanation when the definition of terms are not that clear for the students. Animation is also one of the good features of a slide presentation. It gives emphasis to an object or words in the presentation and at the same time it gets the attention and interest of the students easily because the words and objects can move through applying the animation. In that case, it would be pleasing into the eyes of the students so they can give attention, listened and view every slide. Another thing is the presentation can apply the backgrounds which serve to give life to a slide presentation. The background should have related to the topic and at the same time not empower the text to be readable by the students. It can also have different stylish fonts. These also sometimes give emphasis to the necessary information like title of the topic. The voice narration is also one of the good features of a slide presentation. It is good to apply a voice narration because not of the students are all visual learners. They are all different individuals and have different learning styles so in a slide presentation not only one learning styles can practice. They can also apply/insert a sound effects, music and video that are related to their topic. In my own point of view, all the features of a slide presentation are good.

2. Which of these features are present in the slide presentation you made?

In the slide presentation that I made, all the good features that I’ve mentioned are present. The graphics, animation, sound effects, music, voice narration, stylish font and hyperlink are used for the enhancement of a slide presentation. In motivation presentation, I used pictures and I added music background to be more alive in the start of the discussion. For the discussion, I applied graphics for further understanding about the topic. The video is also applied for the detailed formation of rocks and it would be easy for the students to understand. It also gets the attention of the students to participate in the class discussion. In picture of sample rocks, I applied animation to give emphasis on that object, cope the attention of the students and to be pleasing into the eye. In that case, they will give their attention of the slide presentation. I also added a background to give life in my slide presentation and I chose the one that will not empower the text to be readable and understand. I also used stylish font and I applied animation on this to give emphasis to that words. Another feature is voce narration. It helps the learners to practice their listening skills. Like what I’ve said in the previous number, no all the learners are the same. It also helps the teacher to light her work in discussing the topic. The teacher here is just a facilitator of her students. In my slide presentation that I made all the good features were properly applied and used. It made more my slide presentation effective and attractive for the learning process of the students. It is more authentic because the students are the who performed the task. It gives them the opportunity to explore their skills in computer.

3. Which features are not present in the slide presentation you made?

Like what I’ve said in the previous number, all the good features were presented so I used all the features to enhance my work. Although I applied all the good features in my slide presentation I know that it is not that perfect one. It just helps to enhance my slide presentation, to be more effective and caught the attention of the students. At first it was just a lame presentation because it doesn’t have some features of a good slide presentation like background music, videos, and animations. To apply those feature it helps my slide presentation to be more creative. It enhances

the students not only to practice or enhance their reading skills but at the same time their listening skills and others. Also, it helps me to discover or explore new things like trimming the video or audio and to think creatively for the enhancement of the slide presentation. In my own point, it’s good to apply all the features of a slide presentation. Yes, it is time consuming to do on the part of the teacher but it is better for the learning process of the students. It helps the teacher not to hassle herself in discussing the lesson and it is more believable to have a slide presentation.

Your Reflections

1. What difficulties, if any, did you encounter in making the slide presentation? How did you overcome them?

The difficulties that I’ve encounter in making a slide presentation are choosing what design

should be put on to my slide presentation because honestly, I am not that a typical student who is creative and at the same time imaginative that is why the result of my slide presentation is not that creative. In doing my slide presentation there’s many things that I considered like the unity of designs in each slide, the font styles and the arrangement of pictures and at the same time the animation that I used. It is hard for me to choose what’s the appropriate animation for those. For doing my slide presentation, I used video and music background to caught the students’ attention and it is hard to cut or trim the videos and audio because of the timing. It takes time to trim the videos and audio and I get frustrated for that. I have trouble in applying the animation for each pictures and text. After finishing my slide presentation, I feel contented and happy to the result of my slide presentation. I realized that all the hard times that I encountered was worth it. I overcome all the difficulties to seek help to my classmates and friends. I asked them what is the appropriate design for each slide. I also I also asked them for good motivation about my topic. I got some advices from them to enhance my work. All in all, I come up to the properly arranged and organized presentation to present in the class. I made it carefully and patiently to get good presentation.
