Recently, through the Simply Organic 1% Giving Back Fund, we provided $40,000 for the digging of 49 wells in 38 vanilla-farming communities, bringing clean water to nearly 25,000 people.

Before the wells were installed, women and children fetched water from a stream, sometimes walking as much as several hours a day to do so. With the new wells, fresh water is conveniently available to thousands of village families. And with easy access to clean water, the farmers can increase their income by more effi ciently and eff ectively processing the premium quality vanilla we source from them.
