Developing an integrated pricing strategy

Maximising revenue requires an integrated earned income strategy,
linking pricing of tickets with ‘secondary’ items such as friends /
membership, restaurant bookings and key items of merchandise,
all the while keeping an eye on the bottom line.
Best practice customer service to
patrons who make involuntary noises
– Lucinda Harvey, Head of Employment Relations and Kirsty Hoyle, Access Manager, TMA (other guests TBC)
This session will bring together experts
in the fi eld and those with experience
on the matter to discuss the issues
surrounding involuntary noise.
Practical ways to save money through green management
– Claire Buckley, Julie’s Bicycle
Claire will talk you through the environmental impacts of cultural
venues, the type of actions which can be taken, the benefi ts which
can be achieved by taking action, good practice examples and will
provide delegates with a chance to exchange experience and ideas.
Family Friendly Campaign
– what does it mean for front-of-house staff? – Alastair Tallon, Campaign Manager, ABO
SOLT, TMA, ABO, Dance UK, ITC and VAGA created a partnership
with funding from Arts Council England to create a national
campaign to promote more and better quality Family Friendly
events by increasing the levels of arts engagement of families and
young people. With over one million pounds in the pot, there’s a lot
to play for here. Alastair will speak about the campaign and how
it’s relevant to everyone working in front-of-house.
Afternoon workshops
Delegates have the choice of attending two of the following three
workshops:
Employing unpaid workers
- Lucy McLynn, Partner - Employment Department, Bates Wells & Braithwaite LLP
This workshop will give you an insight into the legalities
surrounding the engagement of volunteers, interns and other
unpaid staff.
Fire safety – Paul Turnbull, Turnbull Fire Consultancy LtdPaul will explore the impact of the Regulatory
Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire Safety
(Scotland) Regulations 2005 on the management of
theatres with a particular emphasis on front-of-house
management.
Aspects such as the responsible person concept,
management of fi re safety, people movement, safety
provisions, training and actions in the event of fi re will
also be touched on (time permitting).
Maximise opportunities for your venue spaces
– Jacqui Kavanagh, MD, Venuefi nder.com, Trinity Event Solutions
With ever tightening budgets, venues need to be savvy about
identifying new revenue streams. A potential quick win here is to
make the most of the spaces available by getting your venue to work
not just during show time, but all the hours in between.
Jacqui will take you through the key areas to think about when setting
up a multi-functional venue. This workshop will allow you to fi nd out
what venue fi nders look for and will examine how your facilities can
be augmented to cater for the conferencing and venue hire.

on Wednesday evening from 6.30pm.
